More unofficial Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite news has come around thanks to Ryce on NeoGAF, this time concerning move inputs.

According to Ryce, it seems inputs are going to be greatly simplified for MvCI as compared to those of traditional fighting games:

While this may make things easier for greener players, history tells us that more established members of the FGC may not be as akin to this at first.

This news probably comes as somewhat negative for more old school players, as simplification has traditionally not been well received... at least not initially. Street Fighter 4's special move shortcuts, such as Dragon Punches coming out with a mere Down+Forward, Down+Forward, Punch) were an area of complaint in the game's early days.

It could also be true that MvCI will feature more than one input for individual movements. The Injustice games feature both Street Fighter-esque commands and NetherRealm Studios-esque commands for the same techniques. Further, we've seen Street Fighter 5 grant a choice to execute moves like Chun-Li's Lightning Legs via either command or mashed inputs.

How are you feeling about this, and do you feel like a lowered standard for execution will detract from the overall MvC experience? Please let us know in the comments below.
