Someone please give a promotion to the person who made this trailer and the "It's Good to be Bad" trailer.

Brainiac as secondary confirmed. Jeffrey Combs sounds so bad ass as his voice.

You can tell these trailers were put together months ago though because some of those faces are definitely from older builds lol

Oh man! Brainiac looks pretty friggin' badass. I also like the look of the revealed stages; the Fortress of Solitude and Brainiac's Mothership. I'm eagerly looking forward to today's stream.

Only 26 days from release and I cannot contain my excitement!

oh yeah, completely forgot about this guy. I can see swampthing being the one providing the army against brainiac's forces heh!

I miss the Brainiac from the Superman animated series (Corey Burton's voice also helped make him memorable)

He definitely feels like the "main villain," and this trailer did an awesome job of showing how he's a threat to every other character on the roster. Brainiac looks badass. I bet he's got some awesome gear too. :D

Why can't Capcom take hints from NRS?

Nice I'm fond of tentacle fighting style like Omega Red. A scary villain and feels threatening I'm convinced.

HyperCombinationFinish said on April 20, 2017 at 9:13 a.m.

Sick Dr Octopus skin, kinda wish they thought of a more interesting style for him than tentacles but whatever. Glad he's at least in the game

THIS is how you do a story mode Capcom.

Not that trash you gave us.

...by creating a plot device called super pills.

We literally didn't even see any gameplay yet, I'm sure he'll have a multitude of tools.

That_guy_who_plays_DOA said on April 20, 2017 at 9:31 a.m.

Plot pills aside, NRS stories are great for fg's. SFV's story was diarrhea served on a thin paper plate with chopsticks.

#15
AveMcree said on April 20, 2017 at 9:37 a.m.

though I feel what you're saying, IDC about a story mode more than actual gameplay. However, NRS outplayed Capcom there as well. Granted it's still got that "clunky" and "non-confirmable" controls like all NRS games. The core gameplay is nothing less than creative and by all means fun...

They actually focused on each character playing different and the combo system isn't stale.

Man I hope Capcom brings it with MVCI or else it's a wrap for them. I hate even saying that because Capcom is the reason why I play different fighting game in the first place. :(

Unimaginably hype

AngriestAngryArtist said on April 20, 2017 at 9:57 a.m.

NRS stories are great for fgs...

so what's with that green armor thing Johnny apparently got?

Honestly most of the well known FG series have sh*t storylines, there's really no escaping it. Almost half of the SF cast in history have nothing to do with the main storyline.

Kijui said on April 20, 2017 at 10:12 a.m.

I thought he only came here for Superman... why do we have to be involved in this shiz?

Metronome said on April 20, 2017 at 10:16 a.m.

just realised i would buy a ps4 to play this games story mode and i still havent finished the sfv story lol

That_guy_who_plays_DOA said on April 20, 2017 at 10:18 a.m.

You asked and I'll answer, because there is an answer written into it.
Johnny's Cage's ancestors were a clan of Mediterranean warriors bred to combat gods, and he was able to tap into that power out of necessity to combat Shinnok.
Leg me shoot one back. How did Juri and Cammy scooter from Brazil to England?
There's no answer written in there, it's just sh*t that happened because Capcom hired awful writers.

Ok now I I think they are showing too much on the story details. Let's leave some suspense NetherRealm... pretty please?

So I'm cracking and getting a console for this game...

ichigouzamaki89 said on April 20, 2017 at 10:44 a.m.

Now THIS is how you sale a fighting game to casuals! I don't even care about online mode but I'd happily pay full price for an arcade mode and a awesome story mode.

#25
Rizz091 said on April 20, 2017 at 10:58 a.m.

We gotta keep in mind the budgeting for these titles. NRS games have a way higher budget, and you can see it in the production values of their games vs capcom games. They just plain don't sell close to what NRS games sell and it shows big time.

GenHanTen said on April 20, 2017 at 10:59 a.m.

This guy ain't messin around...

#27
Dperiod said on April 20, 2017 at 10:59 a.m.

Best thing about this game is going to be all the content in it for the price you pay. The online and competitive aspect to this game will be a bonus. Awesome job here.

#29
Pachendrix said on April 20, 2017 at 11:35 a.m.

And just like that Brainiac makes villain Superman look like a b*tch, to the point where he says phuck this, I gotta be a good guy again. Well played DC/NRS, well played. I gotta agree with some YouTube commenters though, a video game is looking considerably better than nearly everything DC has done on the big screen recently, MAYBE since The Dark Knight... And this is coming from someone who' s in the minority that actually enjoyed MoS.

#30
NaBr said on April 20, 2017 at 11:36 a.m.

Yup and it creates a vicious cycle...

Bad game --> low sales --> bad future productions

They have to break out of the cycle!!!

#31
NoizyChild said on April 20, 2017 at 11:37 a.m.

Didn't y'all learn last time when y'all kept comparing Injustice 1 to SF4/UMVC3?

Just. Play. Your. Game.

You'll never win in the popularity/tournament/longevity scene vs Capcom games. Focus on promoting the game you like instead of constantly showing your insecurities.

#32
JTCircus said on April 20, 2017 at 11:49 a.m.

Who are you replying to here?

Everyone is just talking about story mode and casual content. You're literally the first to bring up tournament anything.

Everyone in the NRS community knows that as far as tournaments we will enjoy this game and then move on to MK11 then move on to Inj3. For us it's just the way it is. If that changes along the line somewhere because of Esports, cool. But if not, nothing is wrong with that imho and in the opinion of most NRS people.

#33
Pachendrix said on April 20, 2017 at 11:50 a.m.

Basically what this dude says. Who cares about a popularity contest when we have the better game (sales, content, gameplay, visuals, story, comics, ESL tournaments...) Kudos to this dude for speaking the truth!

Low Key more hype for this than SFV at the moment.
Capcom had so much hype rolling off USF4,
and then gave us a bare-boned beta (30% of the complete game)
with making us wait on DLC to actually have more of the core game. (i.e. story mode, in-game store, stage transitions, arcade mode, certain online features)
They are still fumbling around with SFV, and aren't giving their fans
what they really want through DLC.
We went from playing a game with ~44
to a more watered down version with less than half of that roster
and now have to sit on our hands waiting on Capcom to give us the characters both developers and fans know should already be in the game.
Why delay Dudley, Sagat and Sakura for another year?

Juri and Cammy rode a carrier that's going to england, done. :P

WHERE THE F*ck is the whole mediterranean warriors sh*t mentioned in the actual story mode?

We gotta wiki now?!

#37
Psychopanther817 said on April 20, 2017 at 12:52 p.m.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't sf4 start off with a basic roster of 16 with a lot of balance problems as well and then overtime became the truly amazing game we know it to be?

#38
That_guy_who_plays_DOA said on April 20, 2017 at 1:05 p.m.

And brought the scooter with them, right, how didn't I see that lol.
No man, JC mentions it while he's briefing Cassie's team. Said he hasn't been able to channel it since, which makes sense. In the beginning of the game he's younger, in his prime, beats Scorpion and Sub Zero one after the other. They also foreshadow the JC development in 9, capitalising on what they wrote there in the beginning of Shang Tsung's tournament to support the badass Raiden's Champion Johnny we get in X. There story was actually pretty dope. Sorry for the essay, but it's things of that nature that made it good, while SFV's story in comparison which I was SO FREAKING EXCITED FOR!!... it was boring man, and that sucks! Because I love story modes in fighters. DOA, Soul Cal(soul blade, CalI but 1,2,3), MK, Injustice, all solid and enjoyable stories.

#39
JoeStarX said on April 20, 2017 at 1:09 p.m.

Brooooooo please oh man please don't bring up Soul Caliburs story especially after 5 lol

#40
malcrash01 said on April 20, 2017 at 1:10 p.m.

Can't say the same for Guilty Gear's and DOA 5's story mode

#41
That_guy_who_plays_DOA said on April 20, 2017 at 1:14 p.m.

I mentioned only soul blade, Cal 1,2, and 3. And DOA's stories are fun.

#42
Balrog1984 said on April 20, 2017 at 1:19 p.m.

Lol at NRS and good gameplay. Thats why half a year later nobody plays anymore, because of the great gameplay. Casuals will love it though and it will sell like crazy so thats good.

#43
That_guy_who_plays_DOA said on April 20, 2017 at 1:50 p.m.

Their competitive season was over, the game is still played. You just don't hear much of anything about it like in between sfv seasons

All I remember from Injustice was the sound of Aquaman's trident, and how much I hated it.

I'm not interested in playing the game, but I hope it'll be fun to watch.

Galletano said on April 20, 2017 at 3:11 p.m.

Wanted to see more of brainiac's gameplay, Also draksied when? The showed already too much everyone already has an idea of what's going to happen.

#47
bornonamonday said on April 20, 2017 at 7:39 p.m.

It looks like I got my wish for the powerhouse version of Brainiac, and Combs does such a great job I'm no longer disappointed that they didn't get Corey or Noble for the role. If he plays as well as he's presented it looks like I'll be playing him, Swamp thing and Scarecrow.

As far as the story's concerned, while it looks fun I'll remain cautiously optimistic. Just in case Injustice picked up the same bad habit Arkham had with excellently building up a main villain only to pull the rug out under him for a crappy twist.
