So Gilty and Gootecks are the only Americans at this tournament? Mike Ross is right about American players needing to travel more.

Only the amateur tournament. The Premier event is open to anyone. Daigo would not have been able to participate

Why would any sponsor send an American player over just to get wrecked? It's not like ALL of Asia travels over seas, it's really only the top players who have a chance that consistently move around.

Get the feeling it will be Momochi.

#27
watchingtom said on October 8, 2016 at 12:16 a.m.

...Momochi or Daigo might take it.

Some players travel across the world in order to play with the best.
But the number of times Eventhub has posted Daigo playing all the top Japanese players lately, It seems like Daigo has been getting a lot of practice time with all the best players on a daily basis. I think he is ready to win his first CPT premier.

#45
Drfunk said on October 8, 2016 at 7:21 a.m.

Infiltration called him the next talent to come out of the SF community in Korea. He's the #1 Ryu over there and seems to finally be travelling more to get more exposure. Nothing flashy about his play style just solid footsies and excellent reaction for max punishes.

Xyzzy is another Korean player to watch out for he's the best birdie over there as well. They're essentially the next gen FGC in Korea.

#46
Montsegur said on October 8, 2016 at 7:23 a.m.

6 Chuns in Top 32 so far. They really like her over there. Decent diversity overall, but still a quite a few Nashes, Cammy, the usual suspects. Great to see Birdie in there, Xyzzy is a beast.

Thank you for the reply DrFunk! Info on NL and Xyzzy (whom I've never heard of until the last few weeks). So awesome to see that Korea's best are traveling more often!

Oh my god. Momochi and Infiltration this early. Man, this tournament is so stacked.

This Xyzzy guy is Korean?
I wonder if Xyzzy trains with Pookgho's Cammy.
Wow, he just took out Xiao Hai...

FV|Chuan's Guile destroying Nemo. Don't know how good Nemo is in SFV but it seemed as though Nemo just couldn't get in unless he had Chuan cornered. And even so, Chuan was the one dominating Nemo in both matches.. don't think Nemo got a round!

Weren't you supposed to come find me? I thought you said I made my bed and your gonna make me lay in it? What happened?

Those 2 asian commentators are sooooo bad, their voices make my hears bleed. Even Skisonic would be 10000x better.

Edit: Thank jesus / allah / buddha / the universe they are gone.

Wow if Nemo manages to beat Xiao Hai I'm gonna be so happy. That ain't gonna be easy at all

Wow, Nemo looked like a beast with that match with Xiao Hai.

#80
MonoChrome said on October 8, 2016 at 11:38 p.m.

Did you see that match?!?!? Nemo was amazing!!!!!!! I'm so glad he won, I really want Nemo to win this tourney so badly

#81
MonoChrome said on October 8, 2016 at 11:40 p.m.

Oh god Nemo is gonna face a uphill match, seriously there's 2 chuns and 1 karin. WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!! Nemo can pull through I know it

#82
watchingtom said on October 8, 2016 at 11:45 p.m.

I know Nemo doesn't have alot of CPT points, but I think he is pretty underrated. Best Vega in SFV.

#83
Mormegil said on October 8, 2016 at 11:47 p.m.

Really looking forward to the Infiltration and Momochi match. Momochi had his number at SFV Crash, so this should be interesting.

#84
MonoChrome said on October 8, 2016 at 11:50 p.m.

Ive always loved his Vega, I was surprised he managed to beat Xiao Hai with Vega of all people too. I can see him struggle against Sako and Humanbomb since he has lost to chun before a lot. I have high hopes though for Nemo

#85
evo546 said on October 8, 2016 at 11:51 p.m.

Tell that to Flash who think his vega is the best in da world and Kbrad believe that as well..... NEMO is best VEGA PERIOD lol

#86
SaikyoStyle said on October 8, 2016 at 11:53 p.m.

Umm...Infiltration already destroyed Momochi at CEO Winner's Final 3-0.

#87
MonoChrome said on October 8, 2016 at 11:53 p.m.

Pfffttt pls Flash HAS a good Vega but he's NO WAY NEAR the best. That title belongs to Nemo period

#88
watchingtom said on October 8, 2016 at 11:53 p.m.

Momo got swept at CEO by Infiltration.
But I have Momochi pegged to win this tournament. He looked really solid last weekend in Brooklyn.

#89
MonoChrome said on October 8, 2016 at 11:55 p.m.

I want to see Infil vs Nemo, I heard Vega gives Infil some troubles so I'm curious how this will go and also they STILL haven't faced each other yet so better now then never right

#90
stephenn said on October 8, 2016 at 11:58 p.m.

I wish Nemo would play more, only really played 2 tournaments and got top 8 at Evo and here. No one can deny he's the best Vega right now.

#91
watchingtom said on October 9, 2016 at 12:01 a.m.

Actually your right. Infil does seem to have problems with Vega. If they meet, I wouldn't be surprised if Nemo wins. Nemo's Vegas is just so far ahead of the other Vega players out there.

I love Nemo's Vega almost as much as his crazy rolento.

#92
watchingtom said on October 9, 2016 at 12:03 a.m.

Yeah, now that he is sponsored by Alienware, he really should make it out to more tournaments. Again, he just hasn't been to many tournaments, hence, why so many underrate the guy.

#93
MonoChrome said on October 9, 2016 at 12:08 a.m.

Nemo's rolento was amazing, also my most fav SFV match was him against Xian at Evo 2016. Seriously that was a hype match, I also remember Evo 2015 Nemo vs AiAi, one of my most fav matches of all time. Nemo knows how to hype people

Cutmanjr said on October 9, 2016 at 12:22 a.m.

My money is on Tokido as usual, I have a feeling he's learned a lot from since the patch updated and ESL and will come back strong.

My other favorites are Momochi and Infiltration (if he plays seriously). If Xian wins I'll be happily surprised as heck.

RedCycloneKen said on October 9, 2016 at 12:53 a.m.

How long will we continue to see XiaoHai and the Chinese dudes dominate KOF, I mean, whenever they are in a KOF tourney there doesn't seem to be competition.

#96
Dongood said on October 9, 2016 at 1:07 a.m.

KoFs largest market I think is China now and the competitive scenes are next to non existent in US, Europe and Korea. Japan is too busy with all the other games they play and are top in. The few Japanese/Asian players that can take on China usually are multi-game experts and are maining other games on the side.
