Skies of Honor stage will not be playable in Capcom Pro Tour events, Capcom Cup 2016 included

We recently saw the release of a new Street Fighter 5 stage called "Skies of Honor." This battleground pits players on the wing of an airplane mid-flight, traveling through the Dubai city-scape.

The stage features some fairly dynamic camera angles that have reportedly caused motion sickness for some players.

This left the community wondering if the Skies of Honor stage would be allowed in tournament play going forward. Turns out, it won't be.

Capcom has provided us with a statement on the matter. You can read it after the jump.
Similar to the Kanzuki Family Beach stage in Street Fighter 5, the Skies of Honor stage represents a new creative direction from the development team and features background effects that may be distracting for competitive tournament play.

For that reason, we will remove it from the list of approved stages on the Capcom Pro Tour and the upcoming Capcom Cup. We hope that our non-tournament players continue to appreciate and enjoy this stage and the unique visual experience it provides.
Though it won't be allowed in tournament play, we can still enjoy the new stage casually and in online bouts.
