Capcom punishes top ranked Street Fighter 5 player by docking over 9,000 League Points

In our previous article we noted that two players, TS|Sabin and World_Combo, were the first to rise to the rank of Super Platinum on Street Fighter 5's online leader boards.

There have been accusations that the latter has been manipulating the system by quitting matches early to avoid losing points, and it appears Capcom has enforced a punishment.

Though we've heard Capcom has started taking action against rage quitters, we now have our first actual example, and by no means is it a small one.

World_Combo, a F.A.N.G player from Japan, stood at an impressive 10,047 League Points and number one ranked spot as of earlier today. Just a short while ago, an online search showed him to be down to 675 LP, with a Bronze ranking.

The two screen shots below were taken about an hour apart from each other.

This finally gives us an idea of what kind of repercussions players will be facing should they choose to try to cheat their way to the top.
