Famed Street Fighter player Daigo Umehara has just announced on his stream that he is now employed by Twitch. According to the broadcast, The Beast joins the streaming service's team as their first-ever global ambassador.

Daigo's new job will entail working with Twitch to promote the company around the world. To start, he will begin his new line of work in Asia specifically.

Though Umehara will still be representing the fighting game community, his work will delve into the general gaming community as well.

We can expect to see Daigo at a lot more events going forward, and not just tournaments. He will be attending more expos and conventions, and will not only be at Twitch Con later this year, but will have a large role there.
Daigo explained that he is going to be very busy this year, as he plans on competing at every Capcom Pro Tour premiere event and wants to attend more ranking events.

At tournaments, Daigo will enter as "Twitch|Daigo," but won't be listed as such at Capcom Pro Tour events. The explanation for this wasn't too clear, though, so we'll get more details on that front as soon as they're available.
