Mr. Wizard explains why Ultra Street Fighter 4 isn't in the EVO 2016 lineup

The game lineup for EVO 2016 was revealed last night, with nine titles being showcased — one was notably absent, Ultra Street Fighter 4.

EVO's Joey "Mr. Wizard" Cuellar explained the game's omission from the official lineup recently.

"I just think [Ultra Street Fighter 4's] time is over, it's not going to be on the [Capcom] Pro Tour, we're just moving on," said Cuellar.

"It's unfortunate that we do not have room for [Ultra Street Fighter 4], but we announced nine other games," he said.

Cuellar explained that there's a lot of bleed over with players, because if they enter to play Street Fighter 5, they'll also enter for USF4.

"It's just double our resources for no real benefit to us," stated Cuellar. "It's time to let it go and time to move on to the bigger and better games."
All hope is not lost for seeing a large Ultra Street Fighter 4 tournament at EVO though, as Mad Catz's MarkMan once again offered a solution to the matter.

Mark and Mad Catz have a history of helping out games that did not make it to the official lineup, and the side tournaments they run at EVO receive a tremendous response.

It's entirely possible that the community will put something very strong together with the aid of MarkMan and Mad Catz.
