Remaining five characters introduced in season 2 of Street Fighter 5 will be brand new to the universe

It was announced today on stage during Capcom Cup 2016 that outside of Akuma, the other five season 2 characters coming to Street Fighter 5 would be brand new to the universe.

"Akuma is only the start of season 2," Street Fighter 5's director, Takayuki Nakayama, said through a translator.

"The other 5 characters will be brand new to the Street Fighter universe," he added.

Right now there are 5 silhouettes shown with Akuma, who these remaining characters will be is anyone's guess.

Street Fighter 5's season pass is already up for sale on the PlayStation Store for $29.99.

Each 2017 character comes with a Premium Battle costume with colors 3-10 unlocked, and the remaining fighters will be released throughout the year.
