'No one could beat him, so US Customs did' - Red Bull examines Melee's most controversial player in Cultivation Leffen: Resurrection

He's loved and hated simultaneously by the Smash community, but regardless your feelings about him, you have to acknowledge TSM|Leffen's skill when it comes to Super Smash Bros. Melee.


An integral part of keeping the Melee scene fresh in recent years, Leffen did what no one else could when took out each of the five standing Melee gods. Leaving humility at the door, Leffen's rise to the top was filled with smack talk and disrespect, earning him the unofficial title of villain.

Seemingly unstoppable, the Swedish player's journey to the top was halted in 2015 when US Customs denied him entry into the country. The ensuing drama included a petition to the White House along with endless hours of community discussion as to whether or not eSports players should be considered pro athletes.
