'Evil Geniuses and Alliance aren't going anywhere' - Twitch eSport rep clarifies situation after EG's parent company shuts down

Update: Colin DeShong, Director of Creative for Twitch eSports and one of the former creators of Good Game Agency and Evil Geniuses, took to his Twitter to clear up the haze in the situation surrounding GGA's apparent shut down and the possible effects this could have on EG.

"EG and Alliance aren't going anywhere. We closed down the GGA Twitter because most of our staff are now integrated into Twitch more fully," he said late last night.

DeShong followed up with another clarification, this time to state that Good Game Agency is indeed shut down, "But yes, to clarify...that means @GoodGame is offline."

This is great news for the FGC, as Evil Geniuses is one of the most recognizable sponsorships in the business, and boasts a roster of exciting and storied players that're very much associated with the EG brand.

Original story continued below.
Just about everyone in the competitive fighting game realm is familiar with the heavy hitting Evil Geniuses team which includes the likes of Justin Wong, Momochi and a handful of other incredibly notable talent.

Not quite as many are familiar with GoodGame Agency, the parent company of EG, which seems to have suddenly shut down after company founder Alex Garfield left Twitch and the GGA Twitter page went dark.

Further buzz on reddit points to other indicators that the company may have just dissolved, or perhaps been acquired by some other business.

If this is indeed the case, we could potentially see the end of the EG FGC team in the very near future. We'll keep you up to date as more of this story unfolds.
