Jab proximity option select discovered in Street Fighter 5: Can automatically parry attacks and counter poke

A proximity option select has been discovered in Street Fighter 5. This set up revolves around the use of jabs.

For those unfamiliar, a proximity option select is a sequence that allows the user to launch a counter attack on an opponent only if they attempt an attack of their own. The OS is triggered by the large hitbox that causes a character to begin blocking, which extends fairly far in front of each fighter.

Bebopaloobop has posted footage of a set up with two different options using Ryu. By hitting crouching light punch and hiding the input for either heavy kick or V-Skill, Ryu will either counter with a sweep or deflect the opponent's oncoming attack.

You can see the OS in action below.

This option select isn't very difficult to perform, and definitely seems strong at the moment. We haven't seen it in competitive play just yet, but it probably won't be long until we see the community crack this one wide open.
