The GameStop Expo took place yesterday in Las Vegas, and the Capcom crew was in attendance showing off the latest build of Street Fighter 5.

At the convention, GameSpot managed to catch up with Capcom's Director of Brand Marketing and eSports Matt Dahlgren for a brief interview. The topic of discussion? Street Fighter 5's roster.

Though we were previously aware that Street Fighter 5 would feature four brand new fighters to the Street Fighter universe, we now have confirmation what the rest of the roster will consist of.

According to Dahlgren, we'll be seeing eight classic characters "that you'd expect in a Street Fighter game," and four are characters from previous games that haven't been seen in some time, such as Nash and R. Mika.
Selecting the game's launch roster wasn't an easy task. Dahglren notes that this particular discussion is among the most intense conversations the team has before the game officially drops.

Capcom is confident that this roster will be different from its predecessor.

"The end result is really going to be a roster that's unlike Street Fighter 4," Dahlgren said. "It's got its own unique flavor to it. And if your character didn't make it in now, we are going to be revealing post-launch characters."
