More Super Smash Bros. 4 DLC on the way? Three potential character and stage slots found in files of 1.1.1 patch

Whenever a new Super Smash Bros. patch drops, eager fans quickly delve into the game's files to see if they can dig up any secrets. The latest patch -- update 1.1.1 -- went live early Wednesday morning, and one data miner in particular already found something worth noting.

ShinyQuagsire posted a couple of images over on Twitter showing that the latest patch introduced three new character slots and three new stage slots. You can see in the first image that three "aFig_50_mario+7" files exist beneath the Roy file. The mario tag is very likely a placeholder put into action by Nintendo to avoid the premature spoiling of upcoming plans.

Additionally, six files labeled "tikibuzz" sit among those dedicated to some of the latest DLC stages such as Peach's Castle and Mario Maker. Though there are six files pointing to new stages, it is likely that these actually represent normal and omega versions, making it only three stages in total.

Unfortunately, these findings aren't as concrete as the Ryu and Roy stage music discovery back before they were officially released. We'll have to wait and see if these files are really telling of more fighters/stages on the horizon, or if they're just innocuous listings.

If these are indicative of upcoming DLC, what do you think it will be? Which characters and stages are you most hoping to see? Let us know in the comments below.
