Capcom's 2015 fiscal report: Street Fighter 5 launch window confirmed, sales expectations, HD remasters, and more

Capcom has released their plans and strategies for investors concerning the fiscal year. In the 34 page document, Capcom reveals some information relevant to Street Fighter 5 and possibly other fighting game titles.

Under "Consumer -- Strategic Objectives", it states, "Plan to launch more titles in popular game series; one example is "Street Fighter 5". While rumors have been that the latest entry in Capcom's main fighting game franchise would happen sometime this fiscal year (before March 31st 2016), this essentially confirms as much. But, wait! There's more.

The very next page lists Street Fighter 5 alongside "The title related to Monster Hunter" as the only two games under "FY2015 Sales Plan for Major Consumer Titles".

Capcom outlines sales expectations of the game to be around 2 million units. This is important. It means that Capcom expects to sell that many copies by the end of the fiscal year. To do that, they must release it a certain amount of time before that deadline hits to reach the sales figure. We will most likely see the game before March 31st, 2016.

Also interesting is that the page continues, "Will utilize existing intellectual property, such as by selling HD remastered versions of popular older games." This could mean more fighting games in Capcom's catalogue will receive high definition remakes and get announced or released this year.

We can also certainly expect more DLC from Capcom titles. One of the plans is "strategic use of additional digital download contents for major titles to extend the life of these titles." This shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, nor should it be entirely unwelcome if handled correctly.

More games will also most likely be coming to Steam. According to the report's objectives is to "increase digital contents sales in emerging countries by using STEAM and other online platforms."
