Daigo picks Yun against Poongko's El Fuerte, Ryu - Is The Beast secretly preparing a Yun for Capcom Pro Tour this year?

"Yun now?" a bewildered Poongko exclaims as his Xbox Live Endless Lobby match against MCZ|Daigo was about to start.

This was the second casual game in a long set between the Korean and Japanese top players, streamed live on PoongkoTV on March 26. In the first game, Poongko had handily beat MCZ|Daigo's Evil Ryu with his El Fuerte two rounds to zero.

And now MCZ|Daigo decides to bring out his Yun, which we don't really get to see The Beast play a lot of these days.

As the casual set goes on, Daigo continues to keep picking Yun against Poongko (who decides to play Ryu against Daigo's Yun) -- is he trying to get his Yun up to snuff for the Capcom Pro Tour this year?

With $500,000 on the line, it wouldn't be surprising if he did.

While it's noble of character specialists to stick with a single fighter, knowing that the top names in competitive Street Fighter are actively (or secretly) preparing sub characters to surprise us (and their opponents) with, can only lead to more hype.

It remains to be seen if MCZ|Daigo would indeed be bringing out his Yun at certain matches in a real tournament. But for now, you can enjoy watching Daigo's Yun at work on the PoongkoTV stream archive embedded below.
