Sakurai: Mewtwo DLC release will not be delayed, it's pretty much done, we plan to release the Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS character very soon
The game's director, Masahiro Sakurai, is definitely aware of the anxiety and anticipation that fans have expressed for the DLC character. And so this week, on a "Tomokazu Sugita and Kenji Ito! Super Smash bros. Special Game Stream" Web show, in which Sakurai appeared on as a guest to talk about the series' history, the Smash Bros. director made an "announcement-ish announcement" (video embedded below).
"So with regards to my announcement-ish announcement, it isn't anything to do with something new I'm working on; it's nothing like that," Sakurai begins.
"With regards to that, the character is coming along just fine. In fact, it's pretty much done.
"We'll be releasing it within the period that we intended for, so until the announcement for that is here, please look forward to it.
"As to when that intended release date is, basically it's almost time," Sakurai elaborates for the benefit of one of the show's narrator, who may not be aware of the Spring 2015 window that Nintendo announced way back in October last year.
