Momochi was going to participate in the Red Bull Kumite open qualifier, but plans have changed; here are the other majors he's attending

As many of you know by now, EG|Momochi was not one of the 14 Ultra Street Fighter 4 players invited to attend the Red Bull Kumite tournament that's taking place at the end of the month.

But just because he didn't receive an invitation doesn't mean that he can't show up to the party: an open tournament held the day before the Red Bull Kumite main event was going to determine who the final two slots in this 16-man tournament would go to -- and EG|Momochi was planning on making a bid for one of the slots.

Unfortunately, Momochi's plans have hit a snag, and they have changed, according to Antonio Javier, Director of Player Operations at GoodGame Agency, the company behind Evil Genuises.

Why does EG|Momochi need to see his doctor in Japan next week? Well, that's because just before traveling out to Austin, Texas for the SXSW Fighters Invitational tournament, Momochi had apparently injured his head.

In a tweet he published on March 11, he said the following (translated by us below):

EG|Momochi: "I injured my head due to my own carelessness. According to the CT scan, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong, so I think I shouldn't have any problems with making the trip overseas tomorrow (to SXSW Fighters Invitational). But just in case, I'm going to try and take it easy today. (P.S. My injury is definitely not due to Choco hitting me)

Hopefully all's well with Momochi, and the Japanese player can safely get back to making 2015 his year after this quick routine check-up at the doctor's.

If you'd like to send EG|Momochi your well-wishes -- or your excitement to see him at one of the upcoming majors he's going to -- you can do so through Twitter @momochi212.
