PR Balrog and NerdJosh report a form of crouch teching in Street Fighter 5

On day one of E3, and our much-anticipated time with Street Fighter 5, we discovered that the option select of crouch teching was not in SF5.

This may not be entirely true, as a few players have discovered a means to both throw out an attack and tech an incoming throw from the crouching position. TS|NerdJosh discovered this tech, and EG|PR Balrog posted yesterday from his Twitter: When we heard this, we investigated a bit ourselves. Hit the jump to see our findings.
TS|NerdJosh got in contact with Shoryuken to flesh out this finding. They discovered that "While crouching, a player can input light punch or light kick, then slowly roll or piano their input over to hit the other button at the same time, resulting in a throw tech input."

We took to the lab to test this ourselves, and while we discovered it does indeed work, the timing window for this technique is incredibly strict. You have only one, maybe two frames to effectively push the second button to get things to work correctly.

Seeing that Capcom put a special effort into striking this option select from Street Fighter 5, we may see this tech removed as the game develops. They may feel the technique's difficulty level may make it impractical to try to implement into common game play, and simply leave it alone.
