Prior to today, I have never heard of the movie Spare Parts (starring Jamie Lee Curtis, George Lopez, Carlos PenaVega and Marisa Tomei) about four high school students who decide to enter a robotics contest as an underdog team going up against MIT. It's based on this true story.

In fact, I've never seen any of the movies that Golden Globe-nominated actress Jamie Lee Curtis has appeared in, for that matter. I'm not at all familiar with her work.

But as soon as Spare Parts hits theatres in my neck of the woods (the film was released in cinemas January 16 in the United States), I'm going to go see it.

Because this mother of two said in a recent movie interview that she plays a lot of Street Fighter, and is planning to celebrate her son's high school graduation in June by taking him to a fighting game convention -- presumably the EVO Championship Series in July (but it could be CEO or Southeast Asia Majors in late June too). That's just too freaking awesome.

Watch the interview for yourself below.

A mother taking her son to EVO as a graduation reward? That's something I can get behind. How about you?

Spare Parts is currently showing in theaters. Here's a trailer:
