Spawn in Mortal Kombat X? Todd McFarlane has given NetherRealm permission to use his character

In an interview with GamerFitnation, the creator of Spawn -- Todd McFarlane -- discussed a topic that many fans have been clamoring about for some time.

According to the comic book/figure creator, NetherRealm Studios currently has permission to use his character in some of their upcoming games. They don't have forever, though, as McFarlane explains that the window is limited.

"They have access to be able to use the character [Spawn] in a couple of their games, if they want to," said McFarlane. "It's up to their discretion. I gave them a window of time, and so I'll just leave it to them to be able to do what it is that they want."

McFarlane continued, "eventually they will phone me and say 'Hey, we want to use him here. Is that OK?' Technically, it's OK, because we already said yes, they are just letting us know. I don't know if they're ever going to use it, they just might squat on it."

We will be seeing guest characters appear in Mortal Kombat X, and considering the fact that Spawn would fit in perfectly with the MK crew, there's a chance we'll be seeing him make an appearance come April.
