Mortal Kombat X could be patched with every DLC character release, Boon hints at Rain being playable in the future

Character spoiler warning: If you're playing through MKX's story mode, you might want to be careful about reading this post, as we've listed a few notable appearances you might not realize are in the game.

If you're wondering how often Mortal Kombat X will receive balance updates and such, NetherRealm Studios' Ed Boon recently weighed in on the matter.

Boon noted that — for the most part — they'll be patching the game with the release of every DLC character.

"Each [patch] will come with whatever fixes that we might find. Hopefully people don't find any infinites or something that's completely broken, but if there's anything that needs addressing, each patch will not only contain the character and skins, but any fixes that are needed," said Boon.

We've included the known release schedule of the DLC fighters, Jason, Predator, Tanya and Tremor below, so you have some idea of when these patches will drop.

Users who've played through MKX's story mode likely noticed a couple familiar faces in the form of Rain and Baraka, and Boon hinted that we may see more of the former fighter in the future.
"When you play our story mode, you're going to notice we have a bunch of what we're calling 'cameos', where a character will appear, but they're not a playable character," said Boon.

He added you'll run into Rain and several other people he didn't want to spoil, but Rain is not part of the Kombat Pack which has been announced, but he stopped short there, and said that's all he could say at this point, hinting that there's more to this, but he couldn't say it, yet.

MKX DLC character release schedule

April 26, 2015 - Jason
May 10, 2015 - Tremor
May 24, 2015 - Predator
June 7, 2015 - Tanya

Note: This schedule is based off of a listing from Australia, so it's possible things could shift by a few days for people in North America, and else where.
