Video: Super Smash Bros. 3DS Peach bug replicated on stream - learn how to avoid getting hit with the ban

Yesterday we reported that there is a bug in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS that has led to some Peach players getting smacked with a 1-day (1440 minutes) online ban, supposedly for 'cheating' in the For Glory mode of play.

The players were not actually cheating, of course. When Peach pulls out a regular item with her down+B move in the first few seconds of the For Glory mode of play, a bug in the game makes it think that the Peach player has used a cheat device to bring in a regular item for use right at the start of the match.

Although many players speculated that this was due to Peach using her down+B move near the beginning of the match, few players wanted to test out that theory for themselves -- since you'd get banned for a full day for doing that. And so the theory was not completely verified.

Until now, that is -- one brave online warrior, who goes by 'Mochi', has decided to take the plunge, and held a stream on Nico Video where he attempted to document the glitch on video. The bug turned out to be a lot more difficult to replicate than he thought; he was only successful in doing it on his 12th attempt, 27 minutes after he began testing.
At the moment it's still unclear if the bug only triggers near the beginning of the game, or anytime you've managed to pull out a regular item with Peach's down+B move during a match.

But given that Mochi managed to get through 11 entire matches without getting banned, despite using down+B as often as he can, it's probably safe to assume that as long as you do not use the move in the beginning moments of the match, it is safe to play as Peach in the For Glory mode.
