Mortal Kombat X fight pad for next-gen shown at GameStop Expo, awaiting approval

Earlier this week, the GameStop Expo took place over in Anaheim, California. The event was host to show floor demos of games still in development, merchandise, and more.

CEO|Alex Jebailey of Iron Galaxy Studios was in attendance, and during his time at the convention was able to snap a photo of a next-gen Mortal Kombat X fight pad that may be hitting store shelves some time in the future. Designed by PDP, known for their long line of gaming accessories and peripherals, this new controller features a 6-button layout (much like the Mad Catz Street Fighter 4 fight pads), and instead of a D-pad, comes equipped with an analog stick.

According to Jebailey, the Mortal Kombat X fight pad is still pending approval, so there is a chance that these controllers may never be mass produced and sold. Still, the fight pad looks great, and we hope to see them on sale some time soon, even if it's only in a limited capacity.

Mortal Kombat X will be officially released on April 14, 2015.
