Xbox One lacks voice command function and Killer Instinct 'Ultra Combo' content in Sweden, Japan, and 24 other regions

Microsoft's next-gen console, the Xbox One, just made its way to store shelves in 26 different regions this month. These locations did not receive the console when the first wave was released back in November of 2013, so overseas gamers had to sit and wait patiently for the hardware to become available at their local game store.

Unfortunately, recent reports indicate that their long wait may have been in vain. According to Simon Lundmark over at the DarkZero gaming website, several digital Xbox One titles, along with certain downloadable content, are currently unavailable in Sweden and many of the other countries that just saw an official Xbox One release.

One of the most discussed game omissions currently is Killer Instinct's Ultra Combo Edition. Lundmark, along with numerous users from different regions over on the Xbox forums, have stated that the option to purchase the Ultra pack -- that which includes all of the retro costumes, accessory packs, and Killer Instinct Classic 1 -- is simply not available for purchase at this time.
Below is a quick list of the content currently unavailable on the Xbox One in Sweden, (and likely the other "tier 2" regions as well.)

• Super Time Force
• Contrast
• Powerstar Golf
Killer Instinct: Ultra Edition – including original Killer Instinct arcade game
Killer Instinct – additional “retro” DLC costumes
Killer Instinct – additional DLC accessories
• Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC (yet to confirm specifics!)

What has these overseas players outraged is the fact that all of this content is already available for purchase in the "tier 1" regions, and has been for quite some time now.

Lundmark reached out to Xbox Support over on Twitter to see if the company could provide some answers to this dilemma. After a bit of back and forth conversation, the official Twitter account provided replies such as, "we'd watch and Major Nelson for best info on upcoming releases," and the response seen below.

The woe doesn't stop there, however. The DarkZero article also claims that the voice command function is no where to be found on the next-gen console. "Voice commands are entirely absent from the Swedish Xbox One UI," Lundmark said. "The same is true for nearly every country the system launched in on Friday."

Hopefully Simon's article, and ours here at EventHubs, will help spread a bit of awareness on this issue. If you live in any of the aforementioned regions, and have experienced similar content/function unavailability, please feel free to share them in our comments below.
