Assistant Producer for Ultra Street Fighter 4, Tomoaki Ayano, has just returned to Capcom HQ in Osaka from his recent appearance at the Taipei Game Show a couple of days ago, and already he's raring to go.

Earlier today, Ayano published a new entry on Ultra Street Fighter 4's official Saikyo blog, announcing that a round of USF4 beta location tests will take place this weekend, from January 31 to February 2, in three Japanese cities: Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya.

Fighting gamers in Tokyo will be able to participate in the beta location test at the HEY arcade in Akihabara, while their counterparts in Osaka and Nagoya can do so at the Taito Station outlets in Nihonbashi (Osaka) and Osu (Nagoya), respectively.

"The beta loc-test version was particularly difficult to tie down. On top of taking into consideration all the feedback we received from players with regards to AE v2012, we also had to consider the feedback we received from the alpha location tests, and fully incorporate all of the new battle system elements for Ultra Street Fighter 4," Ayano wrote.

"So it was really difficult to determine what's the best way to balance everything, and to ensure that we've got all of the characters done right. Now that we're finally holding the beta location tests, I'd love for everyone to try out the changes!

"Of course, this is by no means the final version of the game. As usual, we'd like your input on this version of the game at the location tests. And this time we won't just be getting it from you in the form of paper surveys -- Producer Koichi Sugiyama and myself will be in attendance at the location tests, so you'll be able to tell us what you think directly! Please be gentle with us!"

Ayano also mentioned that a full changelog for all the tweaks they've made to the game's 39 existing characters as well as the brand new characters, based on feedback gathered at the location tests, will be shared on Ultra Street Fighter IV's official site soon, likely within the next couple of days.

The beta version of Ultra Street Fighter IV at these location tests will also feature NESiCA card support, which allows players to track their win/loss stats and customize their player profile through the game's official mobile site. However, Ayano warned, all the stats for the beta location test will be wiped when Ultra Street Fighter IV is finally released in the arcades.

Beta location test attendees will also receive an exclusive NESSiCA card sporting a commemorative illustration done by Rensuke Oshikiri, the manga artist behind High Score Girl. The illustration was previously commissioned for a High Score Girl X Capcom official Street Fighter II tournament.
