More Marvel games delisted, removal of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Online seemingly unrelated to Capcom

While it came as a large shock to many a few weeks ago when Marvel enforced removal of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 from online marketplaces, this is beginning to seem wholly unrelated to the current relationship between Marvel and Capcom by the day.

A few days ago, Deadpool's recent game was removed from online distribution as well, and now a whole slew of games have followed the same trend.
Hit the jump for the list of games that have been removed from the online marketplace by Marvel.
Spider-Man: Friend or Foe
Spider-Man: Web of Shadows
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
Spider-Man: Edge of Time
X-Men: The Official Game
X-Men: Destiny
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
These games were all published by Activision, who have been in charge of Marvel's licensed games for the last few years, and when asked, Activision's community manager Dan Amrich commented on Twitter regarding the removal. While this doesn't necessarily mean that Capcom's Marvel fighting games are safe from any predicted issues, it is reassuring to see that Marvel, at the very least, aren't targeting Capcom specifically. This could potentially mean that Marvel have simply found a new publisher to entrust their game licenses to, but as of yet, no such announcement has been made.

What does this mean for the future of the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 scene? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
