Overview of current tier standings and how they've changed in SSF4 AE v2012, tiers icon added to EventHubs

Tier lists are an ever changing rating system for fighting games. Perceptions of characters are constantly altered — even when there characters themselves remain the same in what they're capable of.

Last month we offered a preliminary look at how the numbers were shaping up, but we've received a considerable amount more votes since that time and some of the placings and overall opinions have changed.

As such, we've broken down the list into a table, showing the current scores (47,000+ votes) compared with last month's scores (29.000+ votes), along with columns showing how much they've changed.

Also, we've added a new tiers icon to the very top of the website, so it's a little easier to find the tiers section going forward, although it still only links to the SSF4 AE v2012 portion.

Notable details and explanations

• The columns on the right hand side stand for Score Differential (S. Diff.) and Position Differential (P. Diff) and they indicate how much the character's overall score, or position on the list changed, respectively.

• Cammy overtook Akuma for the top spot overall, jumping up a whopping 2.7 points. Other notable jumps in overall score included Guile +2.2, Fei Long +1.2 and M. Bison +1.2.

• On the other end of things, Cody and Yang took the biggest drops at -1.7 apiece, they were followed by C. Viper, Dee Jay and Hakan who all dropped -1.1 and Makoto, El Fuerte and Dan who sunk a full point (-1.0).

• Oni jumped four spots in the overall rankings, which might be due to his recent tournament success.

• Yang dropped 3 positions since the last rankings.

• Oddly enough, Akuma, M. Bison and Dhalsim's overall score improved, but they each still dropped a single position overall.

• The reverse was true for Ryu, Zangief, Makoto, and El Fuerte, who all actually had lower scores in this current list, compared to the last one — but actually went up spots, because some of the people above them got worse.
