Phil Spencer's response to Sony's Street Fighter 5 exclusivity: I'd rather invest in our 1st-party franchise (Killer Instinct)
In spite of the exclusivity announcement, one Xbox fan -- the biggest one of them all -- remains unfazed.
He is none other than the head of Microsoft's Xbox division, Phil Spencer, and he has quite a few thoughts on Sony's announcement, which he has tweeted out in response to questions from Xbox fans.
@CapitanoCasella Business deals happen. We won't do all of them. When we have a 1st party franchise in a genre I'd rather invest in ours.

@BRUSH0GUN I'd love it if XBOX fans could play all the games, but business just makes some deals happen. It's all part of competition.

While Spencer did not particularly mention if the investment choices of Microsoft's Xbox division was part of the reason why Street Fighter 5 turned out to be a Sony PlayStation console exclusive, he did make a very good point in that the Redmond tech giant has already invested very heavily in the fighting games genre, with Killer Instinct.
Spencer also said that he would make amends to Xbox fans for losing out on Street Fighter 5, and that he's confident of a great 2015 software line-up for gamers on the platform -- something he's not so sure about for the other camp.
@broggiedoge Love the idea of game franchise bartering, I'll work on making amends for SF.

@leedaviebohan I didn't see ship dates on everything in PSX but I know what our plan is and I think XBOX fans will have a fun 2015.
