Elphelt Valentine and Sin Kiske basic bread and butter combos in Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-

It's been about a week since the Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- demo has been out on the PS4 PSN store for PlayStation Plus members. Hopefully by now you've all had a chance to check out the Arcade and Tutorial modes (don't have a PS4? Watch me run through it here).

If you're hungry for more Guilty Gear Xrd, 4Gamer has just released two videos showing off what Sin Kiske and Elphelt Valentine can do in the game for their basic bread and butter combos, just ahead of the game's Japanese release this Thursday.

You'll need to first unlock Sin Kiske in your copy of the game once it's out in stores, but upon playing as him, you should be able to perform the combos shown off over here, as Sin possesses quite a few of the moves his father Ky Kiske has.

Do note that almost every combo shown in the video below ends with a move that has Sin Kiske eating a chunk of meat. That's because Sin has an extra meter layered on top of his Tension gauge that is refilled whenever he grabs a bite. Managing this extra meter is vital to Sin's fighting style, as it allows him to cancel certain special moves (which include an overhead attack) into other specials.
Compared to Sin, Elphelt is a far tricker character to master. Her main tools are two shooting stances -- one that allows her to use her shotgun for close-range attacks, while another that has her pulling out her rifle, which you can freely aim with an on-screen cursor -- neither of which are really showcased in the video below.

That's because the combos featured here are only her basic bread and butter ones, and for the most part these do not involve her shooting stances. With that said, when I went hands-on with the game at the Tokyo Game Show, I was told that during Elphelt's shotgun stance, you can cancel the shooting and reload moves into one another, allowing for incredibly damaging combos when you've got your opponent pinned to the corner.

You'll have to wait till the game is out to see those combos for yourself. For now, check out her bread and butter:
