In a recent interview with Play Community, Hideaki Itsuno, the game director behind Capcom's Dragon's Dogma series, divulged some of the ideas he has for titles he'd like to work on in the future. These ideas are not limited to just a next-gen sequel of Dragon's Dogma, but branch off into other beloved Capcom IPs.

Itsuno mentions that he is interested in creating a Devil May Cry 5, and even bringing back the Rival Schools franchise. He goes on to say that he'd like to make a title that "captures authentic fighting," and develop a new genre of fighting games.

"In addition to that, I want to also make a miniature garden simulation, as well as make more games for (established) series such as “Rival Schools 3” and “Devil May Cry 5.” Later on, I would even like to make a game that captures authentic fighting, such as Street Fighter II did, to develop a new genre of fighting games."

Obviously, this does not mean there is a concrete plan in the works for a Rival Schools revival, as these are merely ideas had by Itsuno. However, how do you feel about a potential Rival Schools game on next-gen consoles? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
