ChrisG: I don't care about EVO, before I really wanted to win but now I don't even want to be there

Acknowledging that he'd likely get a lot of hate for the statement, Christopher Gonzalez, better known in the community is AGE|NYChrisG, spoke with EventHubs correspondent Jason24cf this last weekend at Youmacon 2013 about how he didn't care about EVO anymore.

"Before I really wanted to win EVO, but now it's just like I don't even want to be there," said Gonzalez.

"I just don't like what it represents," added Gonzalez "I don't like the fact that you try so hard throughout the whole year to not really get anything."

Gonzalez felt it's just like winning another tournament, because you don't hear from the winners anymore, even if they've won EVO multiple times, they're still doing what everyone else is doing, working a 9-5 job and playing video games on the side.

While Gonzalez noted that MCZ|Daigo Umehara is an exception to this, and the event itself is prestigious, he felt that it doesn't really change things for gamers.

Gonzalez also weighs in on the selection process for Street Fighter X Tekken and UMvC3 at the Capcom Cup. To see the clip, hit the jump.
