New site features: Characters in profiles and searching by character in the Fight Tracker

TheUncharted and the rest of the EventHubs crew are very happy to announce the launch of a new site feature — the ability to display which characters you play in each of your favorite tournament fighting games, and also the capability to look for other players to compete against based on the characters they play.

All you need to do is simply edit your profile and after adding which games you play — for any of the tournament games in our lineup — you can designate whoever your main character(s) are. Here are a few images to show you how this works. The first image (left) shows the location of the new add character option, the second (middle) shows the easy drag and drop interface, and the third (right) displays what your new profile page looks like once the process is done.

Following up on this announcement, we've also expanded the search functionality of our handy Fight Tracker to include characters, allowing you to get very specific results. For example, say you need to find someone who plays Gen in Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012. With our advanced search, you can now find a SSF4 AE v2012 player who rates themselves a 7 or above, plays Gen and lives within a 100 mile square radius — all with just a few mouse clicks.

This adds some very high level functions to our website — and we're definitely not done yet. In the future, we're going to be rolling out some more killer bells and whistles associated with these things, but you'll have to stay tuned to the front page to see what it's all about.

Also, not every game will have the ability to add characters to it, with the main criteria being it needs to be played regularly in a tournament setting. If you'd like to see these games have the ability to add characters to them, try and help them get better tournament support.
