Filming on Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist live action series has begun - will feature Goutetsu, young versions of Akuma and Gouken It was announced at the Street Fighter San Diego Comic-Con panel earlier today that the live action series, Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist, has begun its filming. Assassin's Fist will focus on telling the story of Ryu and Ken's origins.

Back in April, the team behind the project began a Kick Starter campaign in order to raise the funds for Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist. Later on in the year, the Kick Starter was canceled due to the acquiring of a financial backer.

Over on the official SF:AF website we found a few casting posts that give an idea of what kind of actors the team is looking for to play each character. We'll see familiar faces like Ryu and Ken, as well as Gouken, Akuma and Sayaka (Gouken's niece / possibly Ryu's mother), each of which will have an 8 - 10 year old version of themselves portrayed in the series, along with more adult versions as well, that you're more familiar with.

Hit the jump to check out a batch of videos that feature Togo Igawa (the actor playing Goutetsu), Hyunri (Sayaka), Akira Koieyama (Gouken) and Gaku Space (Akuma) as they discuss the series.
