This game is so fun but it could definitely use sole balancing, they reall gotta do something about sly

StarGalaxy777 said on January 22, 2013 at 10:46 a.m.

Also Sir Daniel's Empty Greenhand glitch is gone.

I also hear Dante's speed has increased in attacks (Cant confirm this)

glad to see that scrubby infinite gone

BumblebeeCody said on January 22, 2013 at 12:07 p.m.

The game has been out for 2 months and already had 3 balance patches. Wow, that's pathetic.

Guybrush20X6 said on January 22, 2013 at 12:19 p.m.

@4 Pathetic? I'd say good job on behalf of the people who do the patch work. (Except for 1.02, that was a goof.)

IAMSKINJA said on January 22, 2013 at 12:23 p.m.

@4 Pathetic is the opposite of what I would say. The game came out unbalanced and the devs have been working hard to meet the players demands.

All the right nerfs have been done. Superbot is doing a fantastic job with this so far. I hope next they could address both Franzea and Metropolis stages. Franzea freaks out and glitches out in so many ways EVERY single time I play on it online (I know I'm not the only one experiencing this either). Metropolis as well has a less occurring problem where the game gets stuck on the "Fight!" intro looping it until the host exits the game entirely (through the guide button).

Porkstew said on January 22, 2013 at 12:55 p.m.

You must be new to fighting games. Really, really new. Even newer than the 09'ers. Every fighting game is released with glitches and balance issues. SF4, MvC3, MK9, KoF13... all of these had goofy stuff that had to be patched out within months of release.

icejohn said on January 22, 2013 at 1:17 p.m.

wow i didn't even know this patch was coming out today.
huh...i thought raiden would receive bigger nerfs.

Jellie said on January 22, 2013 at 1:23 p.m.

People really complained about that AK loop? Wow. It's meter build was minuscule to the point where I wouldn't even resort to it. It's more used as an escape tool for me really. I'm glad that's the only thing they changed for Deaje though. I'm glad they nerfed Kratos, they should've nerfed Raiden and Sly honestly. They still have more work to do, but for now this'll do.

The drake thing is stupid cause you can get 1 kill and then run out the clock

HooliganComboFTW said on January 22, 2013 at 3:09 p.m.

Damn that comment was asking to get bodied. What ignorance on developing fighters

BumblebeeCody said on January 22, 2013 at 4:30 p.m.

Haha please everyone, the game has been out 3 months and balance changes are already being asked and implemented. Why not get better at the game?
Not to mention some of you took what I said out of context and thought it was an insult to the developer.
Seriously that many "balance changes" in 2 months. How can you not complain? How can a game even develop in that time to be even warrant a balance patch?

Yeah I started playing fighting games in 2013. >:(

DarkFlare07 said on January 22, 2013 at 6:31 p.m.

some of you people should play the game before spewing stupid sh*t. u say get better? no its like saying if dhalsim loses to yun then its not the match up u should just get better. its worse on allstars, more than half the cast cant do anything to sly, kratos, drake, n fat princess. do ur research or play the game b4 u say idiotic things.

JiCi said on January 22, 2013 at 6:41 p.m.

Just got the patch, and the Store option work... albeit being empty.
(Shouldn't they have put the 3rd alternate costumes in there to make it more appealing?)

- the patches were minor
- the patches were small
- the patches were released quickly

Other fighting games take a while longer to patch their games.

The game is already good as it is. I mean, most people won't even notice the patch's changes... at all.

However, there is one thing I'd like them to change gameplay-wise: if you miss a super, as in "no hit" and "no KO", your gauge should stay filled until you KO at least one opponent with it. That would be less punishing to miss a super and having to refill it again. I'm asking this because a LOT of lvl. 1 supers are hard to connect, while lvl. 2 and 3 supers are easier to do so.Since lvl. 1 supers are often used, might as well make them less punishing to miss.

Atemu69 said on January 22, 2013 at 7:25 p.m.

#19 ...Wouldn't that defeat the point? That's like saying in (insert generic fighter with super meter here) that if you whiff, you get full meter for free. If you don't time your super right and whiff, then you whiff. Learn to hit-confirm and don't be a random. It's literally as simple as that. The game doesn't need to be any more noob-friendly than it already is.

I was hoping they would nerf some of Kratos' AP gain/super cost buff. He still gets lvl1 before most chars. I also agree that something has to be done about Sly. His lvl1 is amazing, his counter is almost too good and he has a move for every situation against any character. "He doesn't have a block, let's give him all this cos lol hurr durr that's balanced." No, he at leasts needs some boosts in his frames or something. Anyway, I am not picking up this game seriously until Kat cones out, Spike is getting boring and Raiden lost his touch for me in less than a month.

crisuki said on January 22, 2013 at 7:25 p.m.

@ 19 If they did do that, then everyone would just spam their super until they'd land it, and the people who have good level one supers would be even more difficult to deal with

That and most of the people with hard to land lvl 1 supers require less meter to obtain them.

And lastly nearly everyone (whether it be practical or not) has a way to obtain their lvl one in one combo(or at least 90% of it). Just look at Personaworld's combos

There are alot of minor nerfs to b3 made , but only minor, because the game is more balanced than most of the other games out there. But a lot of the reason why some characters win more often is because there are a lot of players out there that just plain suck. Against Kratos, nathan drake sly cooper, jak, and rachet, you hqve to play conservatively and bait out the moves that can be punished easily. When I play online Im very good at avoiding the scrubby tactics from these characters but the rest of the players just go full retard and play with no strategy whatsoever and before you know it some scrub has a level 3.

FireguyFury said on January 22, 2013 at 11:03 p.m.

I just really really hate what they did to Raiden he is my main and obviously i used his forward grab a lot to start of combos since it was one of the safest ways to do it i'm really really sad :( they should just just nerf the homing chain the most annoying move in the game it should just be horizontal.... also they should give something much better to heihachi than the dumb bowling pin toss and cut down the raijin stance charge

EarthRyno said on January 23, 2013 at 12:52 a.m.

I feel ya. His forward grab was great and all, but it's not really fair that he get's a guaranteed confirm for lv.1 off of a blocking opponent. He's still a great character. People just need to rediscover him a bit.

Raiden's stab throw looks so out of place now.. the crumple suited it but now they just hit the floor and it looks stupid. They should have just made the knock back on side O a bit more so raiden can't just grab right after on most of the cast.

Batmang said on January 23, 2013 at 9:32 a.m.

As a Sly main, I have to admit that he could use some balancing. Maybe they could give a time limit or a cool down on his invisibility. Whether they do to him, I hope he doesn't meet the same fate as Jak.

bagel_bytez said on January 23, 2013 at 10:29 a.m.

The problem isn't looping the grab, it's the unblockable confirm to lvl 1, which is already beasty anyways. But what's most important and no one seams to care, is in a timed match stupid loops run out the clock! When I die I'm more concerned about the 5 second respawn time. Just one death can be the difference between a lvl 2 and a lvl 3. So who cares about a guaranteed lvl 1, a lot of characters can combo into it anyways, it's the time that kills

Venom_Web said on January 23, 2013 at 10:41 a.m.

Sly needs to get nerfed for sure. He may not be able to dodge or block which cripples him, but that level 1 is complete bullsh*t. All he has to do is keep doing that electric roll crap which is apparently immune to everything, go invisible and wait for the idiots who haven't been watching him to start fighting each other then GLAD I COULD HELP for a nice double kill. really all they have to do is nerf that electric roll and make it so you can interrupt that level 1, for god's sake he uses it, you can hit him, stagger him before the attack happens, and the hippo still comes out. that's ridiculous. at least Drake's amazing level 1 can be stopped with a fast enough attack

Rawrgna said on January 23, 2013 at 11:14 a.m.

So they made it so Players 2-4 can't use alternate costumes, The background music cuts out now, and 2vs2 has multiple mini glitches/problems. Thanks for the swirling ring i guess? :(

I paid for this game, stop digitally coming to my house and breaking it. I dont come to your house and break your stuff.

Knockturnill said on January 23, 2013 at 4 p.m.

i'm surprised nobody here has complained about nariko yet, if she catches you in one of those long ass combos then that can last for like 30 seconds.....sooo happy that kratos got nerfed that homing grapple was ridiculous! sly doesn't even bother me that much, it's just slightly annoying that you have to keep your eye on him the whole game and always be jumping and dodging but that's no biggie. dante, raiden, nariko, and my most hated enemy fat princess are what really bug me. i try to play as characters who are used less often such as radec, sweet tooth, and heihachi, and it's annoying when i'm not just spamming cheap moves all day but that's all that anyone else does.

StriderZero92 said on January 23, 2013 at 7:34 p.m.

Nerf Sly & Fat Princess next plz. then i think this game will be balanced :)

AngryToaster123 said on January 24, 2013 at midnight

Okay now that's messed up:
1. Raiden has no projectiles, close combat is his forte, how is he gonna cope without that? Only person who's throw should be nerfed is ratchet.
2. Drake users everywhere are gonna spam the oil drum even more now, he's gonna be a keep away character now. Like another sackboy
3. Cole and Evil Cole infinite square combo, good cole has too much mobility. with his chain grab ice, chain, ice, chain ice, ice jump chain ice. THOSE MOFOS nee to get nerfed bad
4. I'm still getting 120 + ap combo's with Dante users regularly.
5. I don't see much wrong with sly, maybe if they reduce the speed of his parry but thats all
WTF man. as a Drake/Raiden user, I'm dropping Raiden and becoming a more spammy keepaway drake... thank you Superbot ... thank you.

Knockturnill said on January 25, 2013 at 12:55 p.m.

@ #34 sure raiden has no long range, he can only glide halfway across any map with his annoying ass swipe attack and fly down from the stratosphere and pown people.....those might as well be long distance moves. what they really need to do is fix heihachi's useless bowling pin attack.....10 ap per hit? really? and against guys like raiden and kratos who can reach about 10 meters away he's practically helpless.
