Visual history of Ryu in Street Fighter, Vs. and other Capcom fighting games

Ryu is a guy who's changed a lot over the years, since his debut in 1987. He's appeared in a countless number of games, and has had several visual overhauls, depending on the period and game engine he showed up in.


We wanted to document his visual history in Capcom fighting games, titles that were generally played in and around the competitive scene, but instead of just using the official artwork that Capcom has released, we went with his vs. screen and character selection portraits from the various franchises.

This collage is loosely sorted by date and franchise. So sit back and enjoy this visual trip down memory lane.
