Arc System Work's team working on Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- wants a fresh start for the series, and in the process, they hope to attract as many people as possible to start enjoying the franchise.

While details on how this would be accomplished weren't revealed; the first Guilty Gear was released back in 1998, and since that time hasn't been known as one of the most forgiving titles in the FGC for its learning curve.

Series creator, Daisuke Ishiwatari, said that his team had this goal from the start of the project, but didn't elaborate on how they're planning to accomplish it. Here are some screen shots from the location test going down, hit the jump to view more. Also, you can find gameplay details there as well.

More Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- details

• The reason Arc System Works went with Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, Millia Rage, Potemkin, Chipp Zanuff, May, and Venom for the location test is they were the first characters to be created, and were furthest along.

• They said there's plenty more characters coming, though, and completely new characters were hinted at.

• They're making the game's Roman Cancel usable at any time during attacks, on top of slowing down movements of everything except your character, but they're still testing this feature.

• Sol will be a character who players can go wild with by using special attacks.

• Ky will get a new ability called "Grinder," in addition to having more powered-up "Stun Edge" attacks.

• May will be a "catchy" character, and more acrobatic than before.

• Chipp will be getting more ninja-like moves, such as having the ability to stick to walls while attacking.

• Millia has always been a speed-based character, so Arc System Works plan on giving her new attacks that further utilizes her speed.

• Button configurations based on BlazBlue and Persona 4: Arena will be included, by default, as shown in the screen shot below.
