Harada: Street Fighter X Tekken created a whole new community, we want that to grow with TxSF Namco Bandai hasn't revealed much about Tekken X Street Fighter, their counterpart to Capcom's Street Fighter X Tekken, which was released in March 2012, but Katsuhiro Harada said recently that he feels the latter game seemed to create a whole new community — one that they want to take care of and grow with their own release.

"It was not just Tekken fans and Street Fighter fans merging, there seems to be a whole new community growing around [Street Fighter X Tekken] that wasn't playing either of the titles up until that point. That was very unexpected, but quite cool. It’s something we want to take care and grow. Rather than throw out our title right away while those people are still interested in [Street Fighter X Tekken] we are looking for the right time because we are still developing [Tekken X Street Fighter]," said Harada.

Harada also stated the game is still in development, but an elucidation of why Namco hasn't been as forthcoming with more information was offered.

"There are several reasons why we haven't released any updates. One of the reasons is, Street Fighter X Tekken was released. That still had updates until recently."

Harada noted that the team is still moving along the development cycle, though, but things are hush-hush for the time being. "We are making progress, but everything is secret so we can't say anything about that."

Previously, Namco relayed that Tekken X Street Fighter may cater to beginning players in a similar fashion as Tekken Revolution, and that the title may be making its appearance on next-generation hardware, instead of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
