Yoshinori Ono now a corporate officer at Capcom Japan Yoshinori Ono, most famous for being the producer of the Street Fighter 4 series, is now a corporate officer at Capcom Japan.

Ono will not be leaving his current position as the deputy head of Capcom's consumer games R&D division, though.

If you're unfamiliar with corporate officers, in a nut shell they're people charged with the day-to-day responsibilities of running a company, as a high level management official. They're often given the authority to contract or act of behalf of their respective corporation.

So what does this all mean for fighting game fans? That's still not completely clear, as Ono's new responsibilities and job title weren't discussed, but considering he now wields a bit more clout within the company — he's likely to meet less resistance when pitching his ideas for fighting games, as it infamously took him awhile to announce the Darkstalkers re-release.

He relayed this quote on Twitter recently about his new appointment.

KuikenSan: Enjoy your new job.

Ono: Ummm, that's a tough one. ;P
