Online stats for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 may be reset, Third Strike update The online data, like wins/loss records and leaderboards, for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 may be reset, according to Capcom V.P., Christian Svensson. The street date for MvC3 has been broken and numerous people have picked up the game ahead of its February 15, 2011 U.S. release date.

Also, Svensson offered a rough time table when Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online Edition would be released, along with touching on a few other subjects. Here's the skinny from the Unity Boards.
Will I get banned playing for playing Marvel vs. Capcom 3 online early before release, and will the stats and leaderboards reset on the release date?

Svensson: If it's a pirate copy, probably. Microsoft is pretty good at detecting that sort of thing over Xbox Live. If it's from a store that broke street date, probably not.

Not sure about resetting data. That might be a good thing for us to do. I'll talk to some folks Monday and see what we can do about that.

When are we going to get any information about Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online Edition? — Crazy-Legs

Svensson: You won't start to see much until a 4-6 months before what we have planned as release. That will certainly be within 2011. 8)
Will you consider balancing both popular and not popular DLC character requests in the future? Like adding a popular fighter and one who isn't as well known with them?

Svensson: We'll see. Sorry, not talking about DLC for quite some time.

Can you update us on how things are looking concerning MvC3 if we bought it from the Capcom Store?

Svensson: I spoke with Darin yesterday. Orders began shipping to folks on Thursday morning. Depending upon where you live, I'd suspect most folks will get them on launch day (go go USPS!).

We had enough stock to handle all pre-orders as of yesterday so fret not. If you had your order in, you're getting your game. It wouldn't let you place the pre-order if we didn't have the stock to fulfill it. On the downside, when the Special Editions are gone, they're gone for good.

I warned ya to get yer pre-order in on the Special Editions if that's what your heart was set on. :'(

There were no events near me to test out Marvel vs. Capcom 3 out. I want to try the game before I buy it.

Svensson: The game will be in kiosks at more than 1,500 Best Buys.
