New tier rankings for Super Street Fighter 2T HD Remix We've updated the Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix tier listings here on EventHubs.com.

There had been a lot of requests to create a new list based off the rebalanced game, and with most of the major tournaments having been played out, it felt like a good time to compile a new match up chart.

Some characters have moved up a few spots, some have moved down, but for the most part there hasn't been a heavy amount of changes compared to the old Super Turbo rankings. Akuma is first overall by a big margin, but Balrog, Vega, Dhalsim and Sagat are still at the top of the pack.

While tier listings are very popular, it's always best not to take too much stock in these. Characters move up and down in the listing and matches change as new things are discovered. Flat out bottom tier characters have won tournaments before and top tier fighters have lost far more games than anyone could ever keep track of.

Tiers are NEVER ever the final word on anything, but some of the information inside is helpful. For example, very few people would argue that Zangief doesn't have a big disadvantage against Akuma.

As such, take these tiers as a loose guideline of how the matches stack up, but never as the end all be all of who's good in the game.

Just to head off some of the repeat questions that come up, here's a mini FAQ.

Q: I disagree with part of this match up chart. Character X is better than Character Y.
A: This is the nature of tier listings for Street Fighter. No one ever fully agrees with them.

Q: But what if I strongly feel a match up listed here is completely wrong.
A: Leave a comment, post videos and discuss why you feel it is off. Showing compelling evidence has changed people's minds before and it can be done again.

Q: Where was this information gathered from?
A: Primarily top player's forum posts, blogs and interviews where they discussed the match ups.

Q: But a top player said a match up is different than what's in here.
A: The match up charts were looked at from several perspectives. We didn't just take one Ryu player's perspective on his match against Guile, but looked at his peers to see what they said as well. Also, we checked out what top Guile players had to say on the match too.

Q: I still think the tier listing is off.
A: Again, this is normal. Opinions are heavily based off your own experiences, perspective and other factors and it would be impossible to create a tier chart everyone agrees with. Even top players of the same characters don't agree with each other.

Q: I'm going to kill you because of how low you placed my favorite character!
A: Take a number and wait for your turn.
