The "low jab of doom" isn't quite as spammable as it has been in the past, and that's probably a good thing. It still combos into the lariat and can cancel into drive rush, but it can't combo into supers or much else. Even Drive Rush combos are a little bit limited since your opponent will recover quickly. Usually it's just a light attack or two + lariat.
Low LK is quicker and can still link into this move for additional damage and cancel opportunities. It functions closer to how low LP has in prior games, minus the range and higher profile.
While low LP still has decent range and makes for a decent footsy tool, you can't throw it out in every situation like you could in previous SF games.
