Erron Black was part of Mortal Kombat 11's 25 character starting lineup, and was available to play upon the game's release back on April 23, 2019.
One of the newest characters welcomed into the Mortal Kombat universe, Black made his debut back on April 7, 2015 with Mortal Kombat X's release. The Outworld outlaw roams the realms as a gun for hire with abilities so proficient that he can use guns, bullets, and blades to keep up with magic, cybernetic enhancements, and gods.
This gunslinger is decked out in very appropriate attire as he adopts a very "Old West" look. He dons a cowboy hat, a rifle, a pair of six shooters, a pair of bandoliers across his chest, and you better believe his boots have spurs on them. Erron Black looks exactly like what you'd expect when you cross cowboys and Mortal Kombat.
As one might expect, Black can play from a distance using projectiles, but he's actually much more effective up closer. His Cattle Toss command grab is one of his most important tools for opening opponents up. His Scud Shot, though nerfed since the earliest days of MK11, is one of his strongest attacks as it quickly surprises unsuspecting opponents, serves as an anti zoning technique, and allows him to cancel attacks to continue combos or become safe. Also, his Locked and Loaded gun stance is great for massive damage.
Erron Black is a versatile character who can be played both offensively and defensively. Players will need to be able to switch between these gears depending on match ups and opponent play styles,
This character's tools were among the most overpowered when MK11 dropped, making him one of the initial best characters. He's been nerfed a decent bit, but still tends to rank in the higher portions of tier lists, usually in the top 15-20 range. His movement is what hampers him most as he isn't very quick on his feet, and the fact that his pokes aren't great really makes for a really bad pair of main weaknesses.
Erron Black is easily one of Mortal Kombat's coolest modern characters with an extremely charismatic identity and a very solid tool kit. He may not be the absolute best in the game, but he's a versatile choice for players who like to have various approaches to combat.
