Janemba was released as the 36th playable character in Dragon Ball FighterZ and the 4th DLC member from FighterZ Pass 2 to be added to the game when he released on August 8, 2019.
He originally appeared as the main antagonist of the Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn film from 1995, which is where his moveset is of course pulled from.
As an incarnation of pure evil, the fighter's design looks more demonic with bright red skin, yellow eyes, purple armor and a deadly blade.
Janemba is a powerful zoner and ranged character in a game full of rushdown, and he's one of the few in DBFZ to fight with a weapon too.
He can keep opponents out of his face better than just about everyone in the game with the massive range advantage he creates not only with his sword, but also his tail and Mystical Arm command grab.
On top of that, the villain is tricky to lock down thanks to his Phantom Shift reversal teleport or defend against with his portal projectiles.
Janemba is a great pick for players looking to control space on the screen and use unique teleporting options at the cost of some speed.
He's been on the rise in tier lists over the past few years, and while Janemba's not quite up there with the top ranks, he's not that far off from it.
