Android 17 Dragon Ball FighterZ moves

Overview

Tier Ranking: 42nd DBFZ Tiers Popularity: 26th

Android 17 was released for Dragon Ball FighterZ on September 27, 2018 as the game's 32nd character and final DLC addition from the first FighterZ Pass alongside Cooler.

The calm and collected fighter first showed up during Dragon Ball Z's Android Saga in 1991, but his appearance in DBFZ is pulled mostly from his more recent time in Dragon Ball Super.

Ditching his old Red Ribbon Army outfit from DBZ, Android 17 now wears a fairly plain combo of a long-sleeved shirt and jeans along with his jet black hair.

Instead of relying on brute strength, this fighter focuses primarily on speed and mixup potential, which can also make him a pressure monster when all goes right.

The signature piece of Android 17's toolkit is his variety of rekka cancels that allow him to perform consecutive Gear strikes to try and open up the opponent high, low, with a reversal or even a fake out.

Given his stubbier normal range and some Gear pressure not being a true blockstring, however, he does essentially need one or both assists available to reach his full potential.

Android 17 is one of the more technical characters on Dragon Ball FighterZ's roster and can work great for players who enjoy rekkas plus mixup options though he should be put in teams as the point or middle fighter.

As far as the tier lists go, Android 17 spent much of the game's life around the middle of the pack, but a nice stream of buffs and mechanics changes have boosted him to just a step or two below the top ranks of DBFZ.

Overhead accel driver can be countered by 2h, do not use it predictably.
