Dhalsim vs. Character Strategies: Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix

Balrog (Boxer) Match Up Information

vs. Balrog

Keep this guy off of you at all costs. He can use Crouching Medium Kick and Punch to hit some of your limbs, plus his Buffalo Headbutt.

Because of this you don't want to throw random moves out there, you need to be patient and smart in this match. Also missed moves will allow Balrog time to use a Dash Punch to get inside.

Instead throws LOTS of Light Punch Yoga Fires. This will keep pushing Balrog back and make it difficult for him to get inside with a Dash Punch.

When he jumps or does his Headbutt to avoid a projectile, hit him with an anti air or poke attack to push him back.

When he gets in on you either attempt a reversal throw, slide throw or Teleport away.

When Balrog gets his Super charged, stop throwing out Fireballs as often. The occasional Hard Punch Fireball may be OK, but a good Rog player will execute his Super to fly right through your projectile and make you take a ton of damage if you're not careful.

Your goal here is to frustrate the Balrog player by giving him very few chances to get inside on you, so you'll need a lot of patience and smart play.

Chun Li Match Up Information

vs. Chun Li

One of your toughest match ups here. Chun Li's moves for the most part all have higher priority than yours and she can beat the heck out of you with her Lightning Legs.

A popular tactic for Chun players is to jump in with Light Kick, and this can be countered by jumping backwards with Dhalsim and pressing Hard Punch to hit her as she's coming down.

This will do nice damage and help keep her off of you, but you need excellent timing to not get hit, plus a little bit of mind reading. It works wonders though.

When she gets in close, chances are you're going to see some Standing Medium Punches and throw attempts. Simply try to be patient when she's pummeling you with Standing Mediums because although you can't do much, she isn't taking off any power. When she gets in close, throw her.

If you manage to grab Chun Li with a Yoga Noogie, as she's coming out of it do a Medium Kick Slide, this will "cross" her up and immediately go into your Heatbutt (Back + Hard Punch). If your head connects it's probably going to dizzy her.

Use Standing Medium Punch if she gets too jump happy when she's near you, and get tricky with your Slide Throw tactics to make her attempt some reversals you can punish.

Vega Match Up Information

vs. Vega

You're going to see a ton of Wall Dives in this match whenever Vega can get to them. Although these no longer knock you down, it's still not easy for Dhalsim to counter them in some situations.

You'll want to use a Jumping Hard Kick to knock Vega down when you know one's coming. The range on your Jumping Hard Kick is huge, and this should stop him cold. Also the Yoga Blast (Upwards Fireball) works pretty decent as well, especially if Vega is doing Fake Wall Dives.

If Vega did his Wall Dive as you were getting up and he's already close to you, try pulling off a reversal Yoga Teleport to get a bit of breathing room, or a Standing Medium Punch if he's directly above you.

When Vega is close, your Light Kick Slide into Throw tactics will work very well. He should have a difficult time reversing these moves and you'll be taking off precious energy.

Vega's pokes are very quick and he can use several of his moves to knock you out of the air and counter your projectiles, so your main goal should be to get in close and throw him repeatedly.
