Ryan Hart's Sagat change suggestions for Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012 update

Ryan Hart's Sagat change suggestions for Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012 update Since the announcement of the Street Fighter 4 series update, Capcom has requested that players and fans suggest balance changes for Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012. Esteemed Sagat player WW|Ryan "Prodigal Son" Hart wrote up a blog post detailing some of the changes he feels would improve the character.

Ryan provides some very interesting changes and backs each one up with reasoning as to how and why they would benefit Sagat greatly. Check out a snip from his blog below.

F+HK should be an untechable knockdown:

Although Sagat isn't a setup character it's clear that he needs to be in order to stand up in this game looking at the current characters that sit on the top of the throne in majors. Sagat needs a mid-screen scenario where he can create setups.

Currently without two bars, it's very difficult to create a valuable mixup and this makes him less effective against characters who thrive in mid-screen battle or who can corner Sagat easily.

It wouldn't be broken either as he would more or less only be able to land a forward HK from a Tiger Uppercut, FADC which requires two bars or an opponent's jump in which is very hard to react to, so he wouldn't have many opportunities to use it but when he did there would be more threat to fighting him in mid-screen.

When Angry Scar stops the screen, Sagat should be able to block instantly after the animation:

For example he could bait a wake up Shoryu then block it by using the Scar to mess up the timing so that the FADC doesn't come out as they have already done the input when the screen stopped.

This costs a meter so it wouldn't be over powered. This would at least for stupidly ambiguous setups and unblockables if he was able to block instantly as it would mess up the opponents timing but at the cost of meter.

These are only a couple of Ryan's change suggestions so be sure to check out his blog post over on Western Wolves to see the rest.

Street Fighter 4 series receiving more updates than Marvel vs. Capcom 3 due to rights issues - all rights for MvC3 do not belong to Capcom

Fans have been asking Capcom employees about the possibility of an expansion to Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for some time now. Being that Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012 will be getting yet another update, the UMvC3 players are curious as to why their game still has not seen any iterations passed Ultimate.

Over on Twitter, a follower asked Ono why SF4 has been updated so frequently and UMvC3 has not. Ono replied stating that there are rights issues that get in the way of further expanding it and that all of the MvC3 rights are not owned by Capcom. Furthermore, a similar question made its way to the Ask Capcom forum in which Sven stepped in to shed some more light on the matter. Not only does Sven mention the rights issues but also states that those who originally worked on MvC3 are now busy with other projects.

Christian Svensson's replies to comments about arcade games being so expensive, notes he thinks JoJo's is a bit pricey

Christian Svensson's replies to comments about arcade games being so expensive, notes he thinks JoJo's is a bit pricey Over on the Ask-Capcom forums, user Hellcat made a thread asking why various Capcom arcade games are so expensive. Typically an arcade game is 800 Microsoft Points or $9.99 on the PlayStation Store, while Capcom's games have been 1,200 MSP/$14.99 to 1,600 MSP/$19.99.

Christian Svensson jumped in once again to give a little insight to the pricing, even noting that he agrees that JoJo's is a bit too pricey.

If you really want a value, the "all-in-one" package that will be released later this year will have more attractive pricing on a $/game basis than buying the individual packs. In short, if you want only a couple of specific games, the packs are a good way to go. If you've got any interest in games that are in four or multi-packs then likely the "all-in-one" is the much better value.

And as stated above, some day (though it's likely many many months away), these things will be on sale.

Each of these arcade games has been tweaked considerably... online play, new options, easy modes, etc. There's a lot of new development and features here. They are far from just ROM dumps. The team really did a great job on them.

And agreed, Jojo's is a bit pricey... That's the lowest we could get it unfortunately.

Do you guys think the prices Capcom asks for their re-releases is fair? Leave a comment in the section below with your thoughts.
