Tiers for Soul Calibur 5 by the EventHubs community Very dedicated to the project, xxMarshy has delivered the EventHubs Soul Calibur 5 community tier list results. Kicked off in early November, these results were tallied over the last few weeks.

These were compiled by asking forum users and readers of the front page to head in and vote on each member of the cast, assigning them a letter grade. The ratings are from S (top tier) to D (bottom tier), and cover the 26 fighters in Soul Calibur 5.

Wii U launch trailer for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 features crazy mushroom battles and Tekken Ball - release on Sunday

Namco Bandai has a new trailer up for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on the Wii U. The game will be released in North America this Sunday, November 18th, and come out in Europe on Nov. 30th.

The trailer features a lot of mushroom shenanigans and highlights the return of Tekken Ball.

Street Fighter X Tekken v2013 patch to be released on January 29

Capcom's Tomoaki Ayano revealed today that Street Fighter X Tekken v2013 would be released on January 29, 2013. This patch will change the game in a variety of ways, including several core system tweaks and rebalancing the cast.

Ayano said that the team originally planned on releasing this patch in December 2012.

BlazyBloo: Clone Phantasma announced for 3DS, 10 BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma's characters in a chibi-styled action game

Arc System Works has announced a BlazBlue spin-off series called BlazyBloo: Clone Phantasma for the 3DS.

This will be an action game featuring BlazBlue characters in chibi-style forms. Story mode will consist of seven stages and tells the tale of many clones on a rampage. It is also being reported that ten new characters have been added to the games roster from Chrono Phantasma.

Over the past year, we've had many crazy and insanely hype moments at various tournaments from the Evolution 2012 finals between coL.Filipino Champ and LxG|Infrit, to various different high stakes matches such as MH|RayRay vs. AGE|Fanatiq that took place at East Coast Throwdown 4.

SpikeTV's 2012 Video Game Awards - Voting open for the best fighting game of 2012

SpikeTV's 2012 Video Game Awards - Voting open for the best fighting game of 2012 SpikeTV is hosting their annual Video Game Awards on December 7, 2012. They have many different categories from best fighting game, best multi-player game, best DLC and many more.

In the best fighting game section you can choose between Dead or Alive 5, Persona 4 Arena, Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

There is not any other categories where fighting games show up, but if you're a fan of games outside of just the fighting genre there is a ton to vote on.

MLG, DreamHack and Electronic Sports League partner up to unify and elevate eSports globally Major League Gaming, DreamHack and Electronic Sports League announced today that they all would all be partnering up for the remainder of the 2012 season and the upcoming seasons for 2013.

They are hoping that with this partnership, they can create a more manageable and sustainable infrastructure for players that will become the basis for eSports according to Ralf Reichert CEO of Turtle Entertainment GmbH.

The partnership includes, but is not limited to.

• Universal Ranking: A universal ranking system across organizations for all major game titles directly impacting seeding and event qualification.

• Master Tournament Calendar: One event calendar ensuring a minimum or no conflicts to ease players’ schedules and enables fans across the globe to easily spectate.

• Unified Competition Structure: Development of a unified competition structure for all major titles at all tournaments.

• Talent and Marketing Efforts: Cross promotion and support for all leagues to drive further awareness for eSports and league activities, as well as a shared roster of commentators and broadcast talent.

In the past, DreamHack ran a Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition v2012 and Street Fighter X Tekken tournament which had nearly $10,000 up for grabs. While we still haven't seen any Capcom games at an MLG event, they are still hosting tournaments for Mortal Kombat 9 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy season 2 will tell origins of original Sub-Zero characters, starts filming Nov. 28 Writer and director of the Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series, Kevin Tancharoen, had previously stated that season 2 would be about the actual Mortal Kombat tournament, being something closer to the hearts of fans of the series.

Bloody Disgusting has picked up a few more details, noting that the upcoming season will cover the origins of Bi-Han and Kuai Liang (the two Sub-Zeros from MK1 and MK2).

Also, we'll learn about the backgrounds of various fighters, as the new episodes will follow these character's plot lines: Kano, Liu Kang, Raiden, Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Sonya, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Jax, Baraka, Stryker, Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, Ermac and Kenshi.

Shooting is set to begin soon, starting on November 28, 2012 in Los Angeles, CA, but no release date for season 2's episodes has been locked down yet. To scope out the previously released announcement video, hit the jump.

Master Series Europe SF 25th anniversary YouTube replays featuring Alioune, Problem X and more

The Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Master Series Europe qualifiers played out a little ways back, but Haunts at Capcom-Unity and iPlayWinner has just posted a ton of replays from the event for people to check out.

There are some good matches here from Alioune, CG|Problem X, Fuzzy and Dig|Zak Bennett. The grand finals for SSF4 AE v2012, SFxT, SF3 3s and SSF2T HDR are all available in this story, but you can find a playlist with a ton more matches and the rest of the embeds after the jump.

Chun-Li papercraft creation is all kinds of awesome

About 4 feet tall and well crafted, Lubre53 built a large Chun-Li papercraft stand up. Re-creating her original look, you can see she's sporting her signature outfit that debuted in Street Fighter 2 and fairly large thighs.

Kat from Gravity Rush, Emmett Graves from Starhawk coming to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale as free DLC

Seth Killian, lead game designer at Sony's Santa Monica Studio, announced today that Kat from Gravity Rush and Emmett Graves from Starhawk will be added to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale as free DLC.

There's a two week window where both fighters will be available for free, after release. After that time, it's unclear how Kat and Emmett will be made available for download, and if there will be any resulting fees to pay to use them.

Killian noted that these are, "the first DLC characters" implying there will be additional fighters added to the game.

Emmett's playstyle will include his signature weapons, but he'll also be able to utilize Starhawk’s unique "Build-in-Battle" system, calling down help from the sky. Kat uses gravity to position herself for unique aerial attacks. Check out the character's artwork below.

TopangaTV announces 8-man Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament, one match per week, first to ten sets featuring Nemo, Tokido, Abegen, Frieda

Topanga announced an 8 man Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament, tentatively called Z Tournament.

This will be an offline, single elimination, one match per week in a first to ten setting. This will be streamed on the TopangaTV TwitchTV channel, starting next week if possible.

The 8 players will be Frieda, OGTY, Jeo, Uda, Abegen, VX, Nemo and MCZ|Tokido. Match-ups will be drawn on stream and the winner of the tournament will receive 50,000 yen.
