Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 'Time's Up!' by Desk - using a TAC infinite to run down the clock

Desk returns today with another Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 infinite video. This combo is meant to show how long it actually takes to finish an opponent off using one of Nova's TAC infinites.

Anyone who's actively tried to win a match with a TAC infinite will have noticed how harshly damage scaling kicks in (and then how long it takes to finish off that character). Here's a combo, starting from a throw and then optimized for lowest damage output to demonstrate just how long you can keep someone in an infinite. People have speculated about possible time wasting applications of TAC infinites since day 1 but I haven't seen any actual examples and no one uses vs mode to demonstrate new loops (so it's difficult to tell how much of the round is being eaten up).

This combo is pretty much identical to his existing, practical loops only with the goal being low damage. It's purpose is purely to demonstrate time wasting applications with the vs mode game clock on screen. [j.L-H xx FLY, j.L-L-H xx hcb+L, j.L-L-H xx hcb+L *FLY ENDS* j.M-H] repeat

Capcom's Christian Svensson discusses Games for Windows Live and Shonen Jump vs. Capcom

Capcom's Christian Svensson discusses Games for Windows Live and Shonen Jump vs. Capcom Senior Vice President of Capcom USA Christian Svensson jumped onto the Ask Capcom boards to answer more fan requests and questions. During this time Sven gave some key information to the discussion of Steam vs. Games for Windows Live and the possibility of Shonen Jump vs. Capcom.

The first topic has been a contentious one for quite a while, since the majority of Capcom's PC fans want them to integrate Steamworks instead of using GFWL as a service given the reputation that GFWL possesses.

The second topic is a dream title that has been suggested by fans since the advent of Jump Superstars and Jump Ultimate Stars on the Nintendo DS. Hit the jump to see this Q&A.

Marcus: Was is it anti piracy? Cheaper and easier to develop? Some kind of partnership with Microsoft? I did know that Lost Planet 1 used Steamworks but Capcom shifted to GFWL before Steamworks really matured with features like Achievments and Cloud Saving which have never been used by a Capcom PC release.

It doesn't really matter to me since I will buy either way but I am curious why GFWL over Steamworks. Will future titles use Steamworks and features like Cloud Saving and Steam Achievments?

Sven: Some key points about the value of GFWL (as went into the decision making process back in the day):

1. 95% of system calls are identical to Xbox Live. That is to say, if you have an Xbox 360 version, you're 95% of the way to having a working PC SKU, and the calls that are different, aren't wildly different. No additional integration required.

2. What this also means is feature for feature mapping with console. No gaps.

3. Native development support, if needed, in Japanese, in Japan's time zone. For getting anything done with teams in Japan, this is essential.

4. SSA remains secure.

There are others but these are the key ones.

They're all pretty little princesses and we all need to just get along. :)
