More Legend of Chun Li movie stills and comic There were a few new stills of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li movie posted on Game Watch Impress.

The stills look alright, but since the release of the movie will be in late February I'm think we'll start seeing some trailers pop up pretty soon.

Also Udon Comics is launching another Street Fighter Comic, based around Chun Li, but focusing on the early part of her life. You can check out some preview images here, along with some details about what the series will offer.

List of bugs in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix Furious Keys has compiled a list of the known bugs in HD Remix. While some of these things are annoying, remember that Capcom has been encouraging players to report these issues so they can look into them.

Some of the items in this list are really minor and it's reasonable to assume we'll be seeing fixes for the bigger problems in the future.

Crash Glitches

PS3: Single Player: Game freezes when starting arcade mode similar to crash when starting online mode.
Repetition: 4 times.

PS3: Viewing Score Board: Game crashers when trying to view scoreboard.
Repetition: 100% reported by 1 user.

Gameplay Glitches

Xbox360 & PS3: Zangief Super: Motion only works on one side of the screen. Half circle from right to left x2 right + Punch works on both left and right side, however performing the motion the other way round does not.
Repetition: 100% Reported by 3 People.

Xbox360 & PS3: Single Win Quote: During online play the game will only use one win quote, however during local play there are several different win quotes for the characters.
Repetition: 100%.

Graphical Glitches

PS3: Electric Shock Graphics: Graphics for electrocuted opponent did not disappear, player was able to continue fighting with electricity graphics still visible for the rest of the match. Note: Looked freaking awesome!
Repetition: Rare, also reported by 3 people.

Xbox360: Drained Static Health Bar + Static Win Icons: Both players already have 3 wins, health bar is red instead of yellow, you cannot tell how much health you have left.
Repetition: Occasional, reported by 6 people.

Xbox360: Stray Hit Box: During training mode when hit boxes are turned on, matchup between Fei and Ken stray red hit appears after Fei's Medium Kick Flying Kick.

PS3: Black Stage Background: GUI & Player's character is visible however background and opponent sprites are black.
Repetition 1 time.

Xbox360 & PS3: Jagged Edges: Character sprites are not filtered correctly on some screen sizes causing jaggy sprites, this is particularly noticeable on the "MAXIMUM" lettering on Dee Jay's trousers.

Audio Glitches

Xbox360: No Character Sound Effects: No sound effects heard players character however opponents sound effects can be heard.
Repetition: Random but frequent.
Note from DemonDash: It seems to happen when two players select their character at roughly the same time. It might be related to other things as well, but you can hear the second select sound just stop out of the blue. Whenever it's happened I remember this happening before hand so it's pretty coincidental. Not the biggest bug in the world, but pretty crippling for those who rely on sounds for confirmation.

Xbox360: No Speed Up Music: Old bug from beta, when speed up music is meant to be played sometimes the game music will cut out altogether. No audio even at winner/loser portrait screen. Music returns when player is returned to lobby.
Repetition: Frequent.

Xbox360 & PS3: Music Cuts Out Too Early: When the round is over music cuts out abruptly instead of fading in and out.

Xbox360 & PS3 Announcer Error: Announcer does not say PERFECT when player wins a perfect round in arcade mode.
Repetition: 100%.

Xbox360 & PS3 Announcer Error: Win with Akuma, announcer will say "You Win" instead of "Akuma Wins"
Repetition: 100%.

GUI Glitches

PS3: Controller Configuration Not Saved: Game resets button setting to default after saving configuration even between matches.
Repetition: Frequent, reported by several people.

Misc. Glitches

Xbox360 & PS3: Chun Li Spinning Bird Kick Command: Game states SBK command is charge down and up + kick, this is only correct when done while airborne. Therefore it should be changed to back, toward + kick so that it is not confused with her up-kick.

Win/Loses Miscount: System's rankings does not record correct number of wins, and will issue a lose even when you have won all your bouts and been awarded 20 wins achievement.

Capcom confirms no GGPO for Street Fighter 4

Capcom confirms no GGPO for Street Fighter 4 In a sad turn of events, the early word that GGPO would not be included in Street Fighter 4 has been confirmed by Capcom V.P. Sven.

He also chimed in on some other topics noting that there will not be a beta for Street Fighter 4, and answered a variety of questions about HD Remix.

Here's everything.

I realize this topic is old, and Ono said that it isn't possible to get GGPO code into the game because there's not enough resources on the consoles and so on, but after playing HD Remix it would be horrible to go back to the laggy netcode that's used in games like Soul Calibur IV and Anniversary Collection.

Sven: We've been pushing for this for ages as well and unfortunately, it wasn't able to happen. I won't get into the reasons as to why but suffice to say, that ship has sailed. I do believe that SFIV's netcode will still be solid though. We've been doing significant network testing intercontental and local. It's solid.

I'm glad the netcode is looking good, but you guys know from experience that when it's released to the wild, it's a whole different story and Capcom has even admitted this when they had the HD Remix beta out.

Sven: Absolutely true. The difference between a dozen people beating on stuff with about a dozen configurations and dozens of thousands of people beating on stuff in hundreds of thousands of configurations is pretty significant. There is no substitute for the latter.

I was wondering if there will be a beta for Street Fighter 4.

Sven: Alas, there's no time in the schedule. This would have indeed been desirable.

I played about 5 games of HD Remix on PSN, and I lost two and won three, but it says Wins 0 Losses 0, and I played on the scoreboard match... Does it take a while to update my wins or is something going on.

Sven: Sony's stats updates aren't real-time. They can take between 30 minutes to an hour at times depending upon burden on the system. Don't worry though, the stats are being captured.

When we do get the stats website launched (all the tech works, it's laid out, we just haven't launched it yet as we're still doing fine tuning) Sony's stats will get pushed to us once a day. That's how their data services work.

Why is Capcom not releasing HD remix in Japan?

Sven: Titles we develop that get released in Japan need to be approved and supported by our Japanese offices and rated by CERO. Unfortunately, that process and overhead comes with a cost to our office and the costs are unfortunately not justified by the volumes we believe we would do in Japan (to put that another way, it is likely we would lose money releasing in Japan).

It's unfortunate but it is an area we're working on.

As far as Sony adopting a global code approval process like Microsoft? They've been talking about it since before the launch of the PS3 but it's not there yet. They do have global concept approvals now, which is a start.

Will you be able to have a UK and USA played each other in HD Remix or will it be locked to USA players only?

Sven: To the best of my knowledge, nothing is region locked.

When will we see the HD Remix Xbox 360 Premium Theme?

Sven: We'd love for it to be up now but we're not the ones making it. Microsoft is (I don't believe we have the tools/specs for the 2.0 themes yet though I could be wrong). So I'm not sure when it's going to be up. I had thought it was supposed to be up the day we went live with HDR but it seems its running a bit late.

From Sven's comments, it sounds like he and possibly other Capcom U.S.A. staff pushed to have the GGPO network code in SFIV, but they got overruled by the Japanese office.

Download HD Remix's soundtrack for free The folks behind Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix's soundtrack have put up all of the tracks from the game as a free downloadable torrent file.

The new music is excellent, and being able to download it all for free is flippin' sweet. Here's a blurb from the press release.

OverClocked ReMix today released for free download its official soundtrack to Capcom's Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix game for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game consoles.

While video game companies have worked with fans in the past, HD Remix is the first major video game with a completely fan-made soundtrack.

More than twenty gamers from around the world contributed remixes of the original Street Fighter games' music for inclusion in the updated game, in styles including jazz, hip-hop, reggaeton, spaghetti western, garage rock, big beat and electronica.

OverClocked ReMix was approached by Capcom in June of 2007 to provide HD Remix's score after the company discovered the OC ReMix Street Fighter II remix album, Blood on the Asphalt.

Rey Jimenez, Associate Producer for Capcom, worked directly with the fan community to communicate requirements and feedback.

"Working with the OC ReMix crew has been one of the most rewarding aspects of working on SF HD Remix, truly making the game a community effort. These guys are part of the meat and potatoes of what makes the Street Fighter fanbase such a lasting part of the gaming industry," said Jimenez.

"They worked above and beyond our expectations and I'm hoping that we'll be able to work together in the future."

New Street Fighter 4 anime and game screens The Japanese Street Fighter 4 website was updated with a brief run down of what the features will be in the new anime, noting that the film will be 60 minutes long. They also included 4 new screen shots.

Also they posted an additional 7 new shots of the anime here.

And finally Famitsu added ton of new images of Fei Long and Dan in Street Fighter 4, showing most of their moves.

Capcom shares hit five year high

Capcom shares hit five year high Capcom's stock prices are going up, according to

Capcom's share price rose the most in more than five years in Tokyo trading, climbing 18 per cent to close at JPY 1,938 (USD 20.3).

The jump came after Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group increased its rating on the Japanese developer to "strong outperform", citing earnings from the business which is set to revenue rise 39 per cent to JPY 71.6 billion (USD 751 million) in the year ending March 31.

"The three titles to watch out for in the second half are Biohazard 5, Street Fighter IV and Bionic Commando," said Hirotoshi Murakami, a Tokyo-based analyst at Mitsubishi UFJ, who raised the company's rating to "outperform", according to Bloomberg.

Capcom responds to PS3 HD Remix issues Capcom V.P. Sven was back on the Unity Boards today in response to some of the problems players have been experiencing with HD Remix.

Here are his comments.

Why is HD Remix an abomination? If you go on the HD Remix forum, you'll see masses complaining about glitches, bugs, connectivity, and how its way better on the XBox 360. Well, that's not very fair, is it?

And when will it be out in Europe?

Sven: We're exploring issues on both platforms that are exposed by extremely broad usage. Some things may be issues in our code. Somethings may be issues with the servers at first parties. Frankly, we're not sure right now where some issues lie.

We've seen a couple things come up that haven't hit any of our testing or any first party testing. Nothing completely broken, just a few annoying issues.

That said, I strongly object to calling it "an abomination". Doing so only makes you look ignorant of the reality that it is a fantastic game by any measure (read our forums, comments or hell go read SRK... they are indeed raving about it inspite of a few issues).

Given that by your own admission, you haven't played it you really probably shouldn't be throwing around such accusations unless you'd like to look silly. I understand your concern, but hyperbole and vitriol is no way to make your point.

On the issues of Sony Europe, I've explained before, we've not gotten approval from SCEE and so it's not available there yet. When we have a final report from SCEE, and approved code with a scheduled prop date, we'll let you know. Until then, I'm sorry it's not available. I certainly wish it were.

Will a patch be released to enable classic backgrounds?

Sven: No. The new backgrounds required a completely different set of code so there's no way to add back the classic backgrounds.

Capcom taking wait and see approach for HD Remix Wii Capcom V.P. Christian Svensson visited the Unity boards again, this time discussing a possible version of Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix for the Wii.

Here are his comments.

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD HD could really be on Nintendo by Wiiware or Wii DVD. I don't see why not no trouble.

Sven: It couldn't ever be Wiiware, even at 480p. File size is just too large given the storage restrictions for Wiiware.

Theoretically it could be disc based but there are no plans at the moment. We'll see how it does on its current platforms and then maybe we'll see.

Part of the reason HD Remix and Bionic Commando Rearmed are digital is because we don't believe they're the right content for the retail channel (at least, not as stand alone experiences).

The economics would be highly unfavorable as compared to their digital counterparts. And Wiiware, we're finding, only works for titles built from the ground up for Wiiware as the lead SKU given the filesize restrictions.

Street Fighter 4 seems possible on Wii as well.

Sven: In theory, with reasonable downgrades in visual quality including resolution reduction, yes.

I will still raise the question: what's the input mechanism for a Wiimote + nunchuck (which is what 100% of the installed base has) on a Street Fighter title?

He also noted that they would have to redo everything for the Wii, which isn't an inexpensive process.

Mad Catz Street Fighter 4 sticks up on

Mad Catz Street Fighter 4 sticks up on The Mad Catz Street Fighter 4 sticks have been posted on PlayStation 3 version, XBox 360 version.

The details might be sketchy, but right now the PS3 version is listed at $69.99 and the XBox 360 is at $79.99. Also their release dates are both set for February 20, 2009.

Sometimes the details these retail sites put out there aren't very accurate, but based on what we know about these sticks and SFIV's release date, this might be correct.

Also for overseas players, keep in mind there is no territorial lockout on peripherals/controllers, so you'll be fine using these even if you live in another country.

Capcom posted a new gallery with photos of Fei Long, Sakura and Dan, along with a few other characters from Street Fighter 4.

Also the SFIV development blog uploaded some artwork of Rufus showing the 'ink' effect being added in.

I'm making these thumbnails small so those of you who would rather avoid looking at large images of Rufus easily can. ;-)

Interview with Zangief from Street Fighter: The Later Years Mike Fass who played Zangief in Street Fighter: The Later Years talked a bit with CitizenGame about how the new Street Fighter TV show is shaping up.

This is a pretty good interview if you're interested in the new show, or how the original College Humor series came together.

Was there even a plan to have any of the New Challengers (Cammy, DJ, Fei-Long and T Hawk) in the Later Years?

No, not at all. Sam wanted to maintain the focus of the show only on the first and most classic of the Street Fighter II characters, the Big Twelve, as I call them, so that the humor would always directly relate to those who best remembered the SFII experience. He thought that adding any more from, say, Alpha, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Hyper Fighting, etcetera, would blur the immediacy of the pinpointed comic references into obscurity.

We really enjoyed Street Fighter the Later Years, our favorite scene was when you first entered the ring and Bision gives a proud applause of your outfit. What was your favorite scene?

Well, first let me say that, when we did that scene, I was standing there half naked as Zangief who was unveiling his new UFC style MMA fighter look, updating his image from that of a pro wrestler, and I didn't even notice the sight gag that was happening right in front of me! And it truly was a "sight" gag (laughs). Sagat is turning his face away in disgust and covering his eye, yes, but he covers his PATCHED eye and turns that one away while his supposedly good eye is, nevertheless, looking right at Zangief! I only noticed it when I saw the premiere like everyone else and I nearly fell out of my chair laughing! I still don't know who's idea that was but it was brilliant! I've had several favorite scenes but one of my very favorites is the scene in Dhalsim's cab where we recreate the opening titles of "That 70s Show". That was riotously fun!

Street Fighter Underground Remix goes live

Street Fighter Underground Remix goes live Capcom's direct-to-download music album of hip-hop tracks inspired by the Street Fighter series has been posted on MySpace.

It features music from artists such as DJ Qbert, Hieroglyphics, Redman, Oh No, DJ Toure, Mistah FAB and ZION I.

Each artist has produced a Street Fighter tribute track that will be available free of charge on the PlayStation Network.
