Gonna be in Los Angeles on Thursday, July 17th? Wanna come to E3, but don't have a pass?
At Capcom, no pass = no problem. We have pretty limited space, but we'd like to extend an offer to you--yes, actual humans--to stop by and check out our new stuff.
We're opening the doors on Thursday, July 17th, from 12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. (after 1:30 p.m., we release the hounds).
If you just want to come by and hang out, send a note to CapcomContest with "E3" in the title.
As I mentioned, our booth is not big (though it's packed with goodness, including of course all our new games, and a mysterious Street Fighter IV rug!), so to get in, you MUST BE ON THE LIST!
If we don't reply to you saying "come on down!" then you aren't on the list, so don't just show up--we will have to bounce you with extreme prejudice :)
Street Fighter IV is on tour and you're invited to take part in the super-secret, underground events that we're hosting around the country. We're not telling you where or when just yet, but Capcom is planning a number of invite-only, old school arcade-style free-for-alls that will flash back to the glory days of pockets filled with tokens, the sound of trash talk in the air and the sweet, sweet taste of victory.
Get ready to put your quarters up and throw down with fellow Capcom Unity members. No token machines that won't take your dollar, no Xeroxed moves lists, just a night of Street Fighter, friends and some surprises.
Blanka is really hard to beat. His Blanka Ball is very safe against most people, especially when blocked, EX Ball goes through regular fireballs, and his Ball variant where he bounces back, then forward (especially EX version) is hard to block. Really solid character.
Sagat is great, but only as a defensive player. That tiger uppercut goes through many things. Easy knockdowns with him that have very short recovery times, by doing jump-in attack, crouching short into jab tiger uppercut. Also, watch out for people who do a tiger knee, then tiger uppercut immediately after. The uppercut will tag you if you try to counter.
Also Capcom updated their Street Fighter 4 development blog with some of the art from the new Anime Trailer.
Although all of the text is in Japanese, it's still cool to look at the concept art. Here's a taste.
Not determined yet (the U.S.A. release). There are a lot of licensing issues around the title given that those properties are held by different companies across the West and they vary by territory greatly. It was created as a Japan-only project but we're investigating.
We're hoping to use a couple of the arcade cabinets at Comic-con for at least SOME portion of the time to show it off (mostly they'll be dedicated to SFIV, but we'll steal a couple hours a day for TvC).
No promises, but that's what we're pushing for.
Chun Li as depicted in STREET FIGHTER IV stands 10 inches tall on a highly polished stand with every bit of details captured from head to toe. Limited to 700 individually numbered units, this work of art reflects over two decades of passion we shared for the game that shaped the culture of more than one generation and is now making the greatest come-back in a brand new installment!
They also have a mini statue that only costs $10.
The new Street Fighter comics begin this August with Street Fighter Remix #0, a one-shot prelude issue featuring three all-new stories, each of which leads into a new UDON comic book series.
The first of these stories is Street Fighter II Turbo, with art by the ultra-dynamic Jeffrey "Chamba" Cruz (Sinbad: Rogue of Mars). Continuing UDON's core Street Fighter storyline begun in the studio's previous Street Fighter and Street Fighter II comics, Turbo brings the world's fiercest fighters together for what might be the most important tournament of their lives. And with M. Bison running the show, you know the stakes will be high!
Udon has a pretty good reputation, so these new sets should end up being cool. And the artwork is excellent. If you'd like to see more, check out these preview links.

To describe the game itself is difficult. Just looking at screenshots or movies of the game online doesn't do the game justice. It has to be seen in person to really understand why this game is so revolutionary. What I felt was most impressive was the expressions and emotions contained in the game; it truly makes this game shine brighter than most others. All characters have really great facial expressions that perfectly show anger and fear, and the characters' bodies move so fluidly and are well-animated.
The characters also look great. They do look a little cartoony, but the older characters are still looking like their 2D counterparts of years past. The game still plays like traditional Street Fighter, but it easily has some of the nicest graphics and animation I have seen in any game in general. After playing this game, other fighting games just look lifeless, robotic and stiff in comparison.
If you loved playing the Street Fighter II series, but lost interest as the series moved on... you may end up liking SFIV. It's simple and easy to pick up compared to other games out there, and all of the original Street Fighter II characters are back with most of their special moves retained. All characters have an average of about 3-6 special moves, a Super Attack and an Ultra Attack. The game remains simple by design, yet the game has a few new gameplay features that are deep enough to give a player more tools to work with.
It is finally official. Evolution 2008 will have two of the newest games to hit the market. Street Fighter IV, which is brand spankin’ new, will be out in full force at the 10th anniversary of Evo. How many machines you ask? Every machine on the continent will be there! That is a crazy ton of Street Fighter.
But wait, there’s more! In addition to the monstrosity of Street Fighter IV machines to be there, Capcom states that there will be the freshest builds of SSF2T HD Remix. This will be your chance to see what they have done after the beta and how the game is shaping up to be one of the best fighters of all time.
Zangief's Saving Attack A.K.A. The Soviet Farm Hand! Pros: Has the potential to be unblockable. Cause opponents to buckle to there knees. A great set-up for his supers! Has incredible range.
