In depth French review of the new Mad Catz TE:S stick

Sanvy sent word that Ken Bogard did an excellent video review of the new Mad Catz Tournament Edition S FightSticks, but unfortunately, it's in French.
For those of you who don't speak this language, you can kind of skim through the videos and see the various comparisons he makes on the new and old TE FightSticks, but also Sanvy provided this translation of what's going on.

Video 1 transcription: He notes that the sticks are the same height, however width wise they are not. The white protrusions are not on the TE:S version of the stick, which makes for a smaller stick which is more, "back pack friendly."

Cammy will be added to iPhone Street Fighter 4 for free

Pocketgamer reported that Cammy will be added as a new character to the iPhone version of Street Fighter 4. Here's a video of her in action.
They article states that Cammy is being added free of charge to celebrate the praise and good sales the title has received thus far.

There isn't a firm date for her release, but the word on the street is 'soon'.

It's pretty cool of Capcom to throw in an extra character free of charge, and maybe they'll do something similar in the future if they end up adding more people to Super Street Fighter 4's roster.

Thanks to Yasir for pointing out this story. editor teasing Marvel vs. Capcom 3? editor teasing Marvel vs. Capcom 3? In a Twitter update, editor, Ryan Penagos, stated that he's, "In Hawaii giving [the] media a look at something super seeeeekrit. All will be revealed next week."

Now, this is extra suspicious because Capcom staff members are currently in Hawaii hosting their annual Captivate press event.

Also, there's a one week press embargo on the things revealed at Captivate, which coincides nicely with timeline stated in Penagos' Twitter update.

While this isn't direct confirmation that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is in the works, there's little other reason that the editor would be in Hawaii at this exact time and teasing something super secret.

So, expect to have many more details as early as next week.

Haggar out but Hugo possible if Super Street Fighter 4 gets DLC fighters

Haggar out but Hugo possible if Super Street Fighter 4 gets DLC fighters In an interview with, Yoshinori Ono once again stated he feels like Super Street Fighter 4 would be worth the full price for the game. This piece goes on to say that a few different ways, but towards the end he offers a hint at who could be added as future DLC.

Despite the decision to release Super as a disc-based game, Ono said that "it's completely possible" for new characters to be made available as DLC in the future. As for what characters may be up for inclusion, Ono refused to offer any details. He did, however, reveal that Final Fight's Haggar is not top of the list.

"Technically, it's completely possible," he said. "If I hear many voices of people saying, 'come on, update the game in 2011, add a character or two', I could. But in that case I wouldn't put Haggar in, it would be Hugo!"

It's worth noting that Ono pushed for Rolento and R. Mika in Super Street Fighter 4, but those characters didn't make the final cut.

Also Ono is interviewed again on GamesRadar. He doesn't really offer anything new here, he simply states what the development team will or won't add to the arcade release of Super Street Fighter 4 is up in the air.

Ono: Motion sensing Street Fighter game possible

Ono: Motion sensing Street Fighter game possible In an interview with, Street Fighter 4 series producer, Yoshinori Ono, stated that a motion sensing Street Fighter game would be possible in the future.

This article is actually a fairly interesting read, as Yoshinori also talks briefly about the future of the franchise. Here's a healthy grab from the page.

"I've been interested in motion-sensing for a while, ever since Wii was launched," Ono told at a recent preview event in London.

"But I don't think it fits the way Street Fighter is played at the moment. It does broaden the appeal to casual users simply because of the instinctive controls, but it just doesn't quite fit an intricately balanced game such as Street Fighter.

"Now, there is a possibility of doing something called Street Fighter Fit, or Street Fighter Exercise, that is more suited for motion-sensing games, but that would obviously be a slightly different-themed game."

Hardcore fans will, of course, turn their noses up at the suggestion of casual-focused Street Fighter games, but Ono insists such talk is only part of a wider effort to lower the barrier to entry many face when getting to grips with the Street Fighter series.

Sven details Super Street Fighter 4's replay system

Sven details Super Street Fighter 4's replay system Christian Svensson stopped by the Unity Boards to give a few more details on how Super Street Fighter 4's replay system works. Here's the low down.

The new replay system in SSF4 is awesome, but would it be possible to upload those replays to a website instead of just watching them on a console machine? Could this feature be added as a future DLC update?

Christian Svensson: The way it currently works is a bit of a different animal that what you're proposing. The SSFIV replay works by "playing back controller inputs" in-engine. As a result, the playback data is rather small (usually a few [Kilobytes]) so sharing that data with another client, that is capable of conducting the play-back in engine isn't too taxing. To output a movie file that could be uploaded to a website, you'd need something that could render out the movie in real time (fraps-like) and then upload the file.

That could be done a couple of ways, either on the client (which means people's machines get stuck doing those tasks for a while, likely unable to do anything else) or a server side renderer (upload the inputs, have a server render out and capture, then upload to a web destination).

Trust me, we've given this a lot of thought and unfortunately it falls outside the scope of what's currently planned. As far as future DLC, we'll speak to Ono about it and get his thoughts.
